Kit was part of a special task force designed to deal with extraordinary threats and undercover operations that were completely off the books. Although not part of their task listing at all, Kit took a rather strong aversion to a specific, lone vigilante who would burn her victims alive. Sure, the saps immolated were the lowest of the low and scum of the earth, but nobody should have the authority to exert that much pain and suffering on another. The justice system and their own special internal service procedures would see that the righteous would pull through.
So he began to track her movements off job hours and tail her on nights he figured he would be hard to spot or be detected. He did this for months. Finally resolving to stop her one night and figure out what her big deal was, she came to him first; dropping suddenly from above while he was in an alley awaiting her next move.
"I know you've been tailing me. What do you want?" Murana was calm, collected, but definitely hiding lethal malice in her voice. "I don't like hitchhikers."
Taking the bold initiative, Kit used the small space of the alley and pushed her up against the wall, pointing to her chest. "Look, I know you are the Darkflamewolf. What you are doing is wrong and goes against any lawful way of putting down criminals. Even on my worst of days, I am not that cruel. What is your problem? Do you get off on some sick, twisted bent by killing these mammals the way you do?"
Murana folded her arms, looking completely unimpressed at his bravado. "What's it to you? You gonna arrest me? Bring the big bad Darkflamewolf in?"
"If I must." Kit was adamant.
Murana smirked. "I'd honestly like to see you try." She shrugged. "But since my business is not with you tonight, I'd rather not waste anymore time here chatting with you."
Kit slammed his paw up against the wall, further blocking her personal space. "You are not going to get away with another murder tonight. Not on my watch. You will either tell me right now what is the deal with you and why you persist in this cruel endeavor or we both are about to have a very bad night." His cybenetic enhanced limbs began to whirr to life with malevolent intent.
Murana looked down to notice his upgrades and sighed. She was not going to be striking her target tonight. Not with this yahoo on her butt. Might as well spare his life for now. She could go after and kill him any time she wanted. Looking back up directly into Kit's eyes, she grinned. "Alright then, tough guy. You want to know why I do the things I do? I'll tell you..."
