There are lots of things I could have worked more on here, but er, more pictures to get to. I am still freaking happy with how this came out.
(Some of you may have seen the sketch, like ages ago. Tweaked it a bit, and yes, I left out the hoodie and drew in Mighty's shell, partly because I wanted to test a new design for it.)

Solvent markers, fineliners, watercolor pencils. Some plain kind of drawing paper.
As proud as I am of getting that close to Knuckles' original day-glo red, I think I'm going for the pink version next time.

Really? :D They're among my favorites, too.
I don't know why I draw them so rarely - but I confess it's partly because of Knuckles' head >_>; difficult to draw it right.

I haven't drawn him in ages, I really should too D:
Knuckles' classic head shape is really tricky to get right. *nod* (And I can't decide if I want to tweak Mighty's face, get rid of the "needle nose" some way without losing the character in there...) I have some drawings underway now though, I hope I can borrow a scanner soon :p (can't get my own to work)

Aww X3 If I did, I'd still aim for the same general impression /shape of the face.
If /when I draw characters with more realistic /human-proportioned designs, the cartoon faces look strange on them. So I try to give a similar profile but change the details. :p if that makes sense...

like for instance, in https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=468874 it wouldn't have worked to have the "uni-eye" that's kind of a signum for Sonic "hedgehogs" by now - it would have looked too odd.
