You're not too far off! My thought was pretty much Rover (the cat) was visiting the island. Dobie was out taking a stroll when Rover sees him and comes on over to make friends. Dobie is polite enough, but clearly shows signs of wanting to carry on. But Rover misses this, and keeps going. And eventually his talk gets really weird as he says that he's on holiday with his girlfriend-- the blender. So it's partially annoyed, but also wondering what the heck is wrong with him.
That said, thank you! Admittedly I wouldn't mind seeing Dobie in less clothes, either. :P
