That goggles boy… was not a leader?
The portal opened again and the five kids went out. That time, the digimon were out the devices and walking next to their partners. That time they were right in front of a bakery with a digimon designed bread in the exhibitioner. The lights in the house behind it were turned off and it was actually rained what ruined Kaji’s mood.
“Damn I hate to be soaked!” squealed Kaji taking cover under the tent roof of the bakery.
“Why you do?” asked Tagiru smiling mocking about Kaji’s reaction.
“It’s because he’s fire” said Taiki smiling “Right Kaji?”
“Yep…” nodded the kid looking at the others soak in the rain “Ok, not fair being the only one dry” he stepped out the tent roof and let the rain soak him while he looked everywhere “Rain is not that bad… it’s just that I feel weak when I’m soaked.”
“Wait, what does Taiki means by you being fire?” asked Agumon.
“Like me, he is a reincarnation of the fire itself” said Ryudramon looking at the others.
“Like… not humans?” asked Gumdramon opening widely his eyes.
“Exactly like that” admitted Kaji “You think a human could create a whole universe and a parallel universe bonding it with human dimensions?”
“Well… It’s kinda hard to think it that way. In our world a human was…” started Daisuke.
“That Human was controlled by BelialVamdemon, right?” asked Kaji.
“Yes… how do you…?” started Daisuke but then he remembered what Kaji said about taking care of the digidestined kids “Oh! Woops”
“Right, we saw everything” smiled Ryudramon “Kaji and Riku made a master piece creating the dream world so you can have all your digievolutions together.”
“Were you?!” asked amazed Daisuke.
“Indeed” nodded Kaji “But let’s stop talking about this. We need to find Takato Matsuda, the next goggles boy.”
“Where can we find him?” asked Taichi.
“Maybe in the park, Kaji” proposed Ryudramon.
“A park?” asked Shoutmon “All the digidestined tend to go to the parks” he laughed.
“It’s because we are still kids” said Tagiru and Daisuke laughing identically.
“Gosh! They have started… make those two meet wasn’t the greatest idea I’ve had” sighed Kaji and started to walk.
“So, how many goggles boys we will recruit?” asked Veemon.
“There are in total five” said Ryudramon.
“That means Takato is the last one then?” asked Gumdramon.
“Make the count” said Kaji pointing at his own rider goggles “If there were only five goggles boys we would be all together now. I mean that there are five we need to recruit” and Kaji pointed at the presents there “Taichi, Daisuke, Taiki” he counted with the hand “Takato and Takuya” he smiled then “I had no idea of you… but since you team up with Taiki, then you are not a leader, just a sidekick.” He looked down and then back to the kids “And also, there’s another kid we could add to our lines. His name is Kenji Hikaru. The one who created the Shoutmon specie.”
“Ohh!” exclaimed Gumdramon and Tagiru. The other kids seemed to don’t be impressed about that. Specially Taiki.
“So, we find this Takato and Takuya and then we go for Kenji right?” asked Daisuke.
“Not exactly” shook his head Kaji “I’m planning on don’t recruit Kenji if is not necessary. He is… well… I’ll explain it later. Right now we gotta reach that park”
The kids nodded and started to walk following Kaji’s lead. Apparently the kid knew the place like the palm of his hand. In the time they walked, the rain turned into a small storm and the kids had to wear their goggles so they could see well. The digimon did their best holding to their partners when the wind was too strong.
“This is weird, usually storms like this are never seen around this place” said Kaji.
“What could it be?” asked Ryudramon.
“Aww… never mind, we gotta find him” said Kaji and kept walking.
They had to stop after ten minutes due to the strength of the wind. Fortunately they had arrived to the park. Maybe the best way to find him was to split up, but besides Taiki and Kaji, no one knew how Takato looked alike.
“Be aware guys, if you hear a girly cry then that’s our guy” chuckled Kaji.
“What you mean by that?” asked Taichi.
“Takato is… in the lack of a better word to describe him…a whiner” sighed Kaji “Basically if a you slap his hand so he doesn’t touch something, he will cry.”
“And we are making team with him?” asked Taichi.
“Well, he might be that, but besides me, he’s the only one with the ability to make a Biomerge Shinka” admitted Kaji.
“And that is…” said Shoutmon.
“He can fuse with his digimon to create a new and powerful digimon” answered Ryudramon.
“Ok, we should go look for him” said Kaji and then he stopped walking “I guess you need an upgrade in your Digivices. I’ll enable the communication system if you allow me to”
“Communication?” asked Taichi.
“Like a cell phone?” completed Daisuke.
“Exactly like that” nodded Kaji My D-Zero can communicate in a specific frequency with the D-Zero of my brothers and sisters. But I think I can create another so we can communicate in case we got separated.”
“That sounds good” said Taiki handing his Xross Loader.
“Yeah, I think that could be useful!” seconded Tagiru handing his to Kaji.
The other two kids gave their Digivices to Kaji and he started do press buttons so fast that his fingers turned into a blur. In less than two minutes, he had activated the system and enabled a frequency to communicate to the others.
“Now we should split” said Kaji “I’ll send a picture of Takato to your devices so you can recognize him.
“Ok!” nodded the kids and they split up to different parts of the park.
In the walk to the place, Kaji noticed that Takato wasn’t in the cave were Guilmon used to live. That of course was inconvenient since that was the first place he had in mind. He kept track of the others as they should be doing. Daisuke was checking in the playground. Taichi was around the walkways. Taiki around the pool and Tagiru not so far from him moving so fast that Kaji doubted he was even human.
“Where to now?” asked Ryudramon stepping off from the stairs that lead to the cave where Guilmon used to live.
“Dunno… I thought he would be here waiting for…” started Kaji and then he opened his eyes widely “I know where he is!” he picked his D-Zero and communicated with the other kids “Guys, I know where he could be… There’s a underground path near the east side of the park. Meet me there”
“Ok” sounded from the other side.
Kaji ran to the place and waited for the others. The first one in arrive was Tagiru with Gumdramon. Behind him Taiki and Shoutmon and finally Taichi and Daisuke with his partners.
“Here?” asked Veemon.
“This is the perfect place” smiled Kaji “This used to be an entrance to the digital world but was closed down after the events with the D-Reaper.”
“Then we should go!” exalted Tagiru running and jumping the fence.
“Oi! Wait for us you dumb head!” shouted Kaji.
They reached Tagiru and entered the passage. The first thing they noticed was an echoed wail that came from somewhere in front of them. Kaji sighed and said that it was Takato crying. The creator stepped down the platform where they were standing and walked following the trail. The others followed and heard the wailing getting less echoed and clearer. They turned and found the little boy sobbing holding his knees with his arms and hiding there his face. They walked and got close.
“Takato…” said Kaji.
“Huh?!” reacted in surprise Takato looking up and cleaning his face “W-who are you? What are you doing in here?”
“My name is Kaji Shinsei” said Kaji and then he pointed at Ryudramon “He is Ryudramon, my partner.”
“Y-you are a tamer?” asked Takato “B-but I… I thought…”
“Don’t worry, and stop crying please, ok?” calmed him down Ryudramon “He’s my partner. Not my tamer” the digimon pointed at the others “We are here looking for you.”
“For me?” asked Takato noticing that every kid there had a digimon by his side “Why?”
“Because I’m recruiting the goggles boys” said Kaji “Listen, there’s a huge problem in the world right now. There’s an IA called WIZ that is trying to take over the human world.”
“B-but without Guilmon… I cannot help…” lowered his face Takato.
“That’s why I said that you shouldn’t worry” giggled Ryudramon “We can take you with him. We need you both after all.”
“F-for real?!” said in amazement Takato “I-I’ll do whatever to be with Guilmon again!”
“Hehe… that’s what I was expecting” said Kaji “Look, we need to fight WIZ so that’s why we will need your help as well as Guilmon’s.”
“Ok. We help, but how are we gonna get there?” asked Takato “The door to the digital world was closed a while ago.”
“Oh! Don’t worry” interrupted Taiki “Kaji here is one of the creators of the digital world.”
“You? B-but the creators are the friends of Lee’s father!” whined Takato.
“No, no, they discovered how to get there in this dimension” shook his head Kaji “My brother Yamii and twin sister Riku helped me to create the digital world and the digimons. Humans from different dimensions got an idea of how to get there. That’s all.”
“But…” started Takato but after thinking a bit he shut up.
“Look, We created it using a computer called WIZ9000” said Kaji “When we did, WIZ was stable, but thanks to human war advances in technology, the computer was driven mad and tried to take over the digital world so he could destroy it and bring order to it. This time, WIZ is trying to take over the human world first and we cannot let him.”
“What happened the first time?” asked Takato.
“My brothers, sisters and I managed to stop WIZ” said Kaji “We couldn’t destroy it since we thought he could be reformed. Since that day we are trying to create a new IA without the traits that WIZ adopted from humans.”
“Then why you need our help?” asked again Takato confused.
“Look, my brothers and sisters are away in other missions” admitted Kaji “I’m the only one available so I decided to join forces with the goggles boys. That includes you.”
“Ok then. Like I said if you bring Guilmon to me I’ll help” nodded Takato.
“Pretty much for a recruitment” murmured Gumdramon to Tagiru.
“Yep…” nodded Tagiru.
“I can hear ya” said Kaji without looking back while he took his D-Zero “Ok Takato, step by my side… TIME SHIFT!”
Again, a portal to the digital world opened and they could see a red dinosaur-like digimon walking aimlessly in a praire.
“G-guilmon…” said Takato and started to cry “GUILMON!!”
“Takato?” asked the digimon looking at the portal and leaning his head “TAKATO! GUILMON MISSED YOU TAKATO!”
Kid and digimon ran and hugged. Takato couldn’t stop crying and Kaji sighed. He entered the portal and the other followed him.
“Ok, now the official introductions” said Kaji “Like I said before, I’m Kaji Shinsei, one of the creators of the digital world.”
“I’m Ryudramon, his partner and the first digimon in being created” said Ryudramon.
“My name is Taichi Yagami, I was the leader of my generation” smiled Taichi.
“And I’m his partner… My name is Agumon” smiled Agumon also.
“I’m Daisuke Motomiya, leader of the second generation of digidestined” said Daisuke.
“Third, I was the first” completed Kaji.
“I’m Veemon! Nice to meet cha!” smiled Veemon.
“I’m Taiki Koudo, Leader of the Xross Heart squadron that was created during the Xross Wars in the digital world” said Taiki.
“I am Shoutmon, King of the digital world” said politely Shoutmon.
“I’m Tagiru Akashi, and I’ll be the super star of the digimon hunters!” celebrated Tagiru.
“And I’m Gumdramon, I’m better than that red lizard there that calls himself a king” smirked Gumdramon.
“What?!” roared Soutmon almost spitting fire from his mouth.
“Well, as Kaji should have told you, I’m Takato Matsuda, and he is my partner Guilmon” said Takato.
“Guilmon is happy to meet you all!” smiled childishly Guilmon.
“You are the leader of your group?” asked Tagiru.
“Leader? Haha no, no Lee, Ruki and I are friends and there’s no leader” smiled Takato leaving all the other leaders in white.
“That’s why I said to Taiki that I’m recruiting the goggles boys and not the leaders” laughed Kaji.
“Ok guys, time to go for the last one of the group. We are six now, but we still need Takuya” said Ryudramon.
“Ok” nodded the four companions with their digimons.
“Who is that Takuya?” asked Takato.
“Is it a kind of bread?” asked Guilmon leaving again in white all the other kids and digimon with the exception of Kaji and Ryudramon that giggled at that.
“No Guilmon, he’s no bread” said Ryudramon.
“Takuya is the leader of his group, the generation that came after yours but in a previous time line… hmm it’s kinda confusing and I cannot explain it to you right now” said Kaji scratching the back of his head “The only thing I can say is that if we put the time lines together… he would be between my generation and Taichi’s but in a more advanced time.”
“Guilmon doesn’t understand, Takato” said Guilmon.
“Neither I fully” laughed nervously Takato.
“Don’t worry, neither us know exactly how that happened” shrugged Kaji and extended his palm creating another portal “Now, shall we go?”
“Whoa how you did that?!” yelled Takato.
“I’m not human Takato” sighed Kaji “I’m a kid like you but I’m not human. A common human wouldn’t have the resources to create a whole universe like the digital world.”
“Ohh…” exclaimed Takato.
“C’mon let’s go!” whined Tagiru running in his place near the portal.
“Ok…” sighed Kaji.
The six kids and digimon entered in the portal and were sucked and tossed in a different city. But there was something different. It was somehow destroyed and that was not normal. And then Kaji heard it. The roar of a Digimon. A roar he had heard before. And if Takuya was being pursuit by HIM before Kaji gave him back his digispirits, that would be, for the less, inconvenient.
