The two adventurers
“Here we are! 2000 Hikari Gaoka” said Kaji looking around with Ryudramon by his side.
“So where are them?” asked Gumdramon looking everywhere.
“We will only find Taichi here” said Kaji “His partner is in the digital world. I decided to make partnership with the Taichi of this time because he just defeated Apocalymon with his friends. He knows the consequences of letting something like WIZ roam free.”
“Got it!” nodded Tagiru looking around too.
“So what are we waiting for?” asked Taiki giving a step forward.
“Oh! We cannot go just like that…” replied Ryudramon sighing “Digimon are well known here and humans know of our existence. But they could be too terrified to help.
“Terrified?” asked Shoutmon.
“What happened with Bagramon happened here too” said Kaji and started to walk “I highly recommend you to call back your digimon.
The three kids did it and the digimon went into the D-Zero and the Xross Loaders. Being there they wait.
“So, what now?” asked Tagiru still looking at high speed everywhere.
“Is he like this always?” Asked Kaji starting to walk next to Taiki.
“You have no idea…” smiled Taiki “Oi, Tagiru! We are leaving!”
“Wa~it for me!!” yelled Tagiru running next to the other two guys.
“Ok, first, you must know that Taichi lives in Odaiba” said Kaji “But he often, after the events with Apocalymon, comes to Hikari Gaoka to remember. And we are gonna give him a surprise.”
“I don’t doubt so” said Taiki.
“So, how does he looks huh?” asked Tagiru moving along looking a bit bored.
“Just like Taiki, you and me he has brown hair, a bit darker than Taiki” said Kaji “Most of the goggles digidestined have hair like that. Takato Matsuda and I are the only ones with light brown hair. What is a shame since HE is such a whiner.”
“That means we’re not asking him right? Wahoo! Less competence!” celebrated Tagiru.
“Which part of deadly menace to the human and digital world you don’t understand?!” roared Kaji “We need all the help possible! Even if it comes from a whiner like Takato.”
“Aww you don’t have to scream!” reclaimed Tagiru.
“Enough you two!” yelled Taiki.
“He’s irritating! How can you stand him?!” murmured Kaji walking away from Tagiru.
“Is not easy” softly laughed Taiki smiling and walking with Kaji.
The three kids kept walking thru a park looking everywhere for the fourth member of the group. If Kaji’s calculations were right, he should be near the games and he indeed was. Standing next to the metal bars and slides, Taichi was standing there, looking the metal holding his hexagonal digivice between his hands.
“It’s been a year…” sighed Taichi looking at his digivice “I really miss you pal.”
“And you wish he were here right by your side, am I right?” asked Kaji holding Taichi’s shoulder.
“What?!” yelled in surprise Taichi “Were you listening?”
“Don’t worry Taichi Yagami, I know just who you are” smiled Kaji “Leader of the second generation of digidestined.”
“Second?” asked Taichi and then he remembered Genai’s words “That’s right in the past there were other five kids right?”
“And you are watching one of them” said Taiki pointing at Kaji “And also he is one of the creators of the digital world. And also the digiquartz by accident”
“Huh?!” yelled Tagiru “Wait, wait, wait! He’s the one that created it?! I thought it was the watchman!”
“No, no Kaji and his twin sister and his little brother created it” affirmed Taiki “They are the creators.”
“Indeed, we created the server computer that held the digital world but became mad due to the war innovations of humans” said Kaji “We took care of him the first time. Then, Taichi and his friends did it when WIZ took control in the form of Apocalymon.”
“You mean we have fought the same rival?” asked Taichi.
“Indeed we did. The only one that didn’t was Taiki” said Kaji “But that’s not what we came here to talk to you…”
“Ok… but, this is not a very good place to talk…” said Taichi “Follow me, we could talk in my house.”
“Thanks” bowed Kaji thankfully.
Taichi introduced himself properly and then they walked away from the park, right in direction to the metro station. Taichi and the others boarded the metro and sat in the side row watching the buildings pass. The scenery was relaxing indeed. At least for the three Japanese kids. Kaji on the other side was anxious and nervous. Strolling away from the time and place where WIZ was supposed to be, kept him without confidence. But anyways he always could be able to return in time to fight him with the whole group together. But first, he needed to convince Taichi and help him reunite with Agumon.
The time passed fast as the kids chit chatted understanding each other, smiling, laughing and telling their own adventures. Kaji told them his own adventures in the digital world amazing all of them, even Taiki who discovered some of his enemies, the ones he took too much effort to defeat, were easily taken down by the brothers. Kaji even let Ryudramo tell them their most kept digi-secret to show them the level of confidence they had on them. They talked, for the first time in several years, about Nega-Ryudramon.
And then, after what seemed to them like minutes, they were in Odaiba walking to a huge apartment building. Taichi guided them thru the stairs and they arrived to the Yagami house.
“Welcome!” said Taichi opening the door. They entered and were received by the little sister Hikari “Oh!, Hikari you are here?”
“Of course I am big brother, I left school earlier today because the teacher felt ill” said Hikari.
“Well, they are some friends of mine” said Taichi “They are Kaji, Taiki and Tagiru”
“You… are one of the creators?” asked Hikari at Kaji.
“Eh?!” exclaimed Kaji giving one step back.
“You look like it” smiled Hikari and walked to her room “I’ll be in my room big brother, offer them something to drink! You are rude!”
“Eh?!” exclaimed also Taichi twitching an eye “I’m your big brother don’t say that!”
“Don’t worry, that’s one of the reasons we choose her” smiled Kaji “She has a special ability to see thru everything.”
“Thanks for saying it” sighed Taichi.
“But we could use something to drink” smiled Tagiru.
“How rude!” reprehended him Kaji and Taiki.
Taichi laughed at that and served them some water. They drank it refreshing their throats and sat in the couches. The silence floated for a moment over them but finally Taiki broke it.
“Kaji, you should tell him why we are here” said Taiki.
“Yes, yes tell him about the mission!” exclaimed Tagiru.
“Ok, ok…” sighed Kaji “Look Taichi, there’s a problem. The original WIZ was reactivated recently. In the past it tried to take over the Digital world and reform it. This time…”
“Is trying to take over the human world, right?” asked Taichi.
“Yes” nodded Kaji.
“By the way, how are we gonna fight that WIZ if we have no digimon?” asked Taichi.
“Oh! Ours are here” said Tagiru smiling showing his Xross Loader “This is a Xross Loader, we held our digimon in here so we can have them with us all the time.
“Yep! So now you can releas us!” reclaimed Gumdramon.
Tagiru, Taiki and Kaji released their partners.
“He is Gumdramon” said Tagiru.
“Yosh!” nodded the purple digimon.
“He is Shoutmon” introduced his partner Taiki.
“Yeah!” nodded also Shourmon.
“And here’s my partner Ryudramon” said Kaji.
“Nice to meet cha!” saluted Ryudramon.
“I’d love to introduce you my partner but…” started Taichi but his face turned sad.
“Oh! No worries, actually we are gonna get Agumon before we leave to meet the others” said Kaji smiling and standing up.
“The others?” asked Taichi.
“We won’t be alone in this mission” said Taiki “Apparently Kaji wants all the leaders to help.”
“No, no, not the leaders” shook his head Kaji “The goggles boys. You, the annoying pest, Taichi…”
“Who are you calling that?!” roared at the same time Tagiru and Gumdramon.
“I’m just saying” laughed Kaji “Anyways, all the goggles boys are needed to defeat him. All of them.”
“Ok then, I’m going” said with great determination Taichi “I’ll ask Hikari to tell my parents that…”
“It won’t be necessary” said Kaji “I can return you right to the point in time when you left. Once we finish I’ll take all of you back to your dimensions.”
“Thanks then… I’ll just take some stuffs and will be ready” said Taichi standing up and running to his room.
“So, only goggles boys?” asked Tagiru.
“There’s another leader but… actually, only the goggles boys are the ones we need to help in this” affirmed Kaji.
“Ok then, I guess I have a slight idea, after all, are the ones that have the specific traits that I have right?” said Taiki.
“Yep, when they designed you…” started Ryudramon.
“Wait what?!” roared Tagiru.
“You don’t have to know that” said Kaji “Ryu, don’t say anymore.”
“Ok” nodded Ryudramon.
“Oh no! You say something weird now you gotta tell us!” reclaimed Gumdramon.
“You really don’t need to know” said Taiki.
“Taiki…” murmured Shourmon and turned a bit angry at Tagiru and Gumdramon “Oi, kiddos, there are things that are worthy not knowing, this is one of them.”
“Tagiru, I won’t say anything to you about Taiki” said Kaji “I’ll only tell you that there are some specific traits on each goggles boy. But Masaru, the other leader that is not a goggles boy or a kid like us, share the same main trait with Taichi.”
“So that’s the reason why we don’t need him” finalized Ryudramon.
“Ok guys I’m ready!” returned Taichi holding some stuffs.
“We won’t necessary be always in the digital world, you won’t need all that” said Kaji while Taichi stuffed a small lantern, a spyglass and compass in his shorts.
“Well, you never know” smiled Taichi.
“That’s right” accepted Kaji and raised his D-Zero “Ok, time to go… TIME SHIFT!”
A portal opened and a small part of the digital world was accessible in the seating room of the Yagami house. And in that part, an orange digimon was sitting with a sad look on his face.
“AGUMON!” yelled Taichi jumping into the portal and running to his friend.
“Taichi?!” yelled in surprise Agumon running to him.
“I MISSED YOU!” both said at the same time hugging.
“Ok guys, we gotta go to recruit Daisuke” said Kaji opening a portal extending his hand to the right side.
“Ok, but first let me introduce you to him” said Taichi smiling “Guys, he is Agumon. Agumon, they are Taiki, Tagiru, Kaji, Shoutmon, Gumdramon and Ryudramon.”
“Nice to meet you!” waved Agumon.
“Nice to meet you too!” said the other six at the same time.
The eight partners entered the portal after the introduction and were tossed into a soccer field where several kids were playing that game. There, a grown up version of the eight digidestined from the previous generation were cheering two kids that were playing shoulder by shoulder. On a side there were two more kids. All of them had their digimon and also, two more digimon were there. They watched at the game until it ended. Daisuke’s team won and by the time they parted ways to go home, Taiki, Tagiru, Taichi, Kaji and their partners approached to Daisuke.
“Daisuke Motomiya” said Kaji making the kid to stop. He turned at them and also did his digimon.
“Who are you huh?” asked Daisuke and then he saw Taichi “Wah wah wah!! T-T-Taichi-san!!! Y-y-you look so young!!”
“Huh? Do I know you?” asked Taichi shocked a bit for Daisuke reaction.
“Didn’t you saw yourself in the grades?” asked Taiki.
“Daisuke is the leader and goggles boy of the third generation” said Kaji “You gave him your goggles” Kaji pointed at the goggles that Daisuke had on his forehead.
“So he’s the next leader huh?” asked Taichi.
“Daisuke, he is the Taichi from two years ago, He hasn’t meet you yet” said Ryudramon.
“Ok, ok then why are you here?” asked Veemon.
“We have a…” started Kaji but he looked up and sighed “It’s almost night… can we go to your home so we can talk more comfortably?”
“Of course!” nodded Daisuke.
They walked to Daisuke’s home. In the mean time, Veemon introduced himself as well as Daisuke did. A while later, they arrived to another apartment building and walked up stairs to Daisuke’s home. The kid opened, it was empty, apparently his family had gone out.
“Well, this is convenient” smiled Daisuke “Can you wait a while? I’ll take a shower first.”
“Ok we can wait” said Taiki.
They sat with Veemon while Daisuke took hi shower. They remained silent just looking to the others. And Tagiru broke the silence in a flash.
“I wanna know!” roared “What was Ryudramon saying about Taiki!”
“Yeah! Tell us!” reclaimed Gumdramon “If we are supposed to be a team there should not be secrets!”
“You don’t understand Tagiru” said Taiki with a concerned look on his face “I…”
“C’mon tell us!” exclaimed Gumdramon and Tagiru.
“I’m ready!” announced Daisuke walking in.
“Uff… saved…” murmured Taiki and Kaji.
“So! What was that important thing you wanted to tell us?” asked Daisuke sitting down next to Veemon.
“Well, there’s a situation” said Taiki “Apparently the server computer that helped create the digital world, was reactivated.”
“Isn’t that good?” asked confused Daisuke.
“When we created it… it tried to take over the digital world destroying everything” admitted Kaji.
“Now is trying to take the human world” completed Ryudramon.
“Apparently he’s near where we were” admitted Shoutmon “But now, WIZ is way too strong. Even Kaji is not able to stop him even tough is he who created him with his sister and brother.”
“What?!” yelled Daisuke.
“Yep, as you head…” said Gumdramon “That rascal is one of the creators of the digital world.”
“You are what?!” asked almost roaring Daisuke “If you are, where were you when we were in troubles?!”
“Just imagine what would have happened if I or my brothers and sisters wounld’t been there to save you from time to time or sending help to you” admitted Kaji “We decided not to show ourselves to the digidestined, but this time is different.”
“I get it” said Daisuke sighing “Sorry for that.”
“At least you are polite in that” said Kaji.
“I’ll go then…” said Daisuke “You’ll need all the help if the creator NEEDS help”
“Touché” smiled Kaji.
“Let’s go then!” cheered Veemon.
“OK!” responded all the others standing up.
Kaji opened another portal and this time they saw a full city from above. There were two towers in the middle and some houses far from there.
“Well, looks like everything is calm in Shinjuku…” said Kaji smiling.
“Wait… we’ll jump from here?!” asked Tagiru in shock.
“Yea, nothing to fear about” smiled Kaji.
“I fear for our lifes!” yelled flailing Agumon.
“Ok, ok…” Kaji smiled and the image in the portal moved to a bakery, right Infront “Better?”
“Yes” nodded all the others.
“Then let’s go, Takato and Takuya are waiting for us…” said Kaji.
Without a second of doubt, the kids entered with their digimon into the portal and this closed when Kaji entered next to Ryudramon. There were two more kids to recruit and maybe a third would be needed. But for the time… only two. With that, Kaji expected to have it covered.
