I recently seen an interesting video of the life of sea pirates in the olden days. We always picture the captain of those pirate ships as being dressed to the hilt in elaborate clothing. Actually, according to the video, the captain and crew members were dressed in what ever was casual, comfortable and practical. That video changed a lot about what I thought the lives of pirates were like.

Fast forward to around year 2,000: I had planned to do a posting one of these days of modern day Somali pirates (ocean robbers as they refer to themselves as). Hyenas, cheetahs, baboons and other east African species dressed in ragged clothes, some with camouflage blouses, high shaft sandals or barefoot and some with Muslim durags...And wielding fully automatic military rifles. The quote being more on the order of;
