Part 1 of a new series I began earlier last month (Total of 10 pages).
Cloudless skies let the sun soothe the crocodile's skin. Pua, now in exile, stared at the retreating antelopes. The new leader of his float, Makuu, ventured beyond his turf.
Snapping at the legs of the herd, Makuu laughed at their futile attempts to near the shore. At this time of day, all would drink without fear of hunts. This time was different. Pua could not intervene.
"Such is the way of the crocodile. The victor must now lead by his command. What would an old soul like my own have left to offer, Mufasa?" Pua glanced at a passing wind, carrying dull leaves to sink by his planted claws.
