The first makeup day for the Newbie Artist Training Grounds X is here! And, wow, am I behind on my plans for it! I wanted to catch up on as many as possible of seven missed prompts today, but I returned home quite exhausted, so I guess I can only draw this one for the first of the makeup days.
The picture here was drawn for Day 3 with the prompt "Draw A Pony Filled With Rage / Draw A Pony About To Lose It". I immediately had to think of Dinky's famous rage face when I heard that prompt.^^ Fun fact, it is actually Sweetie Belle who we saw with this face, but an artist revectored the expression for Dinky and, for some reason, Dinky got much more popular with this face than Sweetie Belle. I can see why, though, Dinky is a filly who doesn't stand for any yakshit and she has the personality to get quite offensive if there is something to fight, so imagining her in rage like that is very easy.
Her rage face also reminds me on a story I once saw, about Dinky's hatred for spiders, so my idea was to draw Dinky raging at a spider because she hates (and fears) them. The spider turned out much bigger than I intended to draw it, I have a big problem with drawing in small sizes. It also looks rather unspectacular for a spider, drawing spiders is somehow harder than drawing ponies. I definitely need more practice there. Regardless of its look, that spider will soon get to know the underside of Dinky's hoof and form an intimate bond with it. <3
