Yeah Alter's being a bit of a bully, but he's got a point. A parasite isn't symbiotic, the host always loses something when a parasite attaches itself. If the parasite is gonna be pushy against Alter for hurting its host, be it physically or emotionally, it needs to face the reality that it is a hypocrite. It cannot stop itself from hurting the host, as it is by its nature, parasitic. And thus, if it is so concerned about its hosts safety, shouldn't it detach?

Has anyone thought of what the elements of harmony did to it when it change them from the wild and violent beast to the cute and adorable form they have now? What about what happened to Rarity and how they changed her from a Nightmare pony to a Lightmare pony. Would the elements of harmony change them without altering the harmful effects of being a parasite enough to no longer be as harmful as it used to be if not completely remove its ability to do harm to it's host?

Snrk. The second and third questions are stupid. If they’re close enough to breathe something harmful it’s likely the host already inhaled it on their own. There’s also many cases where a persons body makes things that are harmful to them no parasites needed. Those last two questions might not even be relevant. They might be relevant, it’s entirely possible it was stated elsewhere in the story and I missed/forgot it (I might very well have) but I feel the answer is probably a no.
