Yes, I went with an obvious pun when naming Rotor's female counterpart. XD And like Twan D'Coolette, I wasn't satisfied with simply making a Rule 63 version of Rotor. So, instead I made her a seal. Also, I didn't want my version of the character to be fat... I mean, blubber-filled.
I had to redesign Rotary twice before I was satisfied with how she looked. The overalls and bare flippers just weren't doing it for me. Ultimately I went with the mechanic girl design.
Naturally, she would keep Rotor's baseball cap and tool belt. Her gloves are the ones Rotor wore before the reboot. The same goes for her swimming flippers, which are based off of Rotor's shoes. And lastly, she wears a bikini top and swimming tights.
Rotary is an expert swimmer and can swim faster underwater than she moves on land. And her primary means of attack are her flippers.

Rotary's native home is still in the Northern Tundra. However, she comes from a herd of seals, instead of walruses.
When Rotary wasn't inventing, she was defending her herd from Dr. Eggman or anyone else who would endanger her herd. This includes killer whales and polar bears. Ironically enough, she has had many confrontations with Bark the Polar Bear.
Rotary has also teamed up with and even joined the Arctic Freedom Fighters on occasions.
However, Rotary would eventually leave her herd for good when she discovered inter-dimensional travel...
