Sonic pauses as he watches a younger version of his father combat Metal Sonic. But what actually catches Sonic's attention is that his father has super-speed. How did this come to be?
Sonic's father introduces himself as Jules Hedgehog to Sonic. He then turns to Metal Sonic, telling him that he owes him a new plane.
Jules Hedgehog continues to attack Metal Sonic, but the robot manages to evade his attacks.
Metal Sonic prepares to counter-attack Jules, leaving him open as Sonic lands a hit on him. This leaves Metal Sonic distracted long enough to be attacked by Jules this time.
With the power of a Chaos Emerald, Metal Sonic was able to overpower Sonic. But now he is being overwhelmed by two speedy blue hedgehogs.
Sonic and Jules catch onto this fact quick and smile at each other with a knowing glance.
Sonic and Jules double-team Metal Sonic. Just as the robot fends off an attack from one blue hedgehog, the other attacks. This continues on until both hedgehogs start attacking at the same time.
With one final team attack, Metal Sonic is knocked to the ground and loses his Chaos Emerald. As he stands back up, he sees Sonic and Jules stand in front of him.
Sonic smiles as he holds the Chaos Emerald in his hand. Metal Sonic glares at him before taking flight, retreating from the battlefield.

Some time passes as Sonic and Jules are seen getting acquainted with one another as they run along side each other. Jules is impressed that Sonic can keep up with him and questions how he got his speed.
Sonic responds that he was born with his speed. And Jules simply responds ``lab accident'' as he eyes the Chaos Emerald Sonic is holding.
Jules didn't have speed in the original timeline. So, how did time change this much, Sonic thinks to himself. Though he's quick to brush it off and decides to figure it out later...
Sonic questions Jules about the plane he mentioned earlier. Jules tells him that he was piloting his plane when Metal Sonic attacked him. Thankfully, Jules jumped from the plane before it crashed.
As their conversation wraps up, the two hedgehogs arrive back at Mobotropolis.
Elsewhere, Metal Sonic emerges from the Special Zone with another Chaos Emerald...
