Lol, I was messing around with lego yesterday, because I couldn't actually work on the drawings I wanted to, and after I finished building the little Spyrius MOC I had started (no camera, or I'd totally show it off, in all it's mediocrity... although I got a little carried away with antennas and satellites and things... it's only a small one-minifig "surveillance craft") and wondered what to do next as I thought to myself about 'sigfigs': "Imagine if I could combine my favourite minifig faces into one! That would be totally awesome, and now I am compelled to draw it!"
So I combined my favourite details from 3 of my favourite spacey lego minifig faces. The blue Spyrius headband (kinda hard to see behind the helmet, but when it wears a helmet you can't see it anyway), that microphone/headset and the angry eye + hair bangs... and then I left it at that... until I was again fiddling with lego today, and began collecting black and yellow pieces from my lego boxes as I leaned towards the Blacktron theme: unfortunately I didn't build anything, but ended up drawing this instead... Isn't it awesome!? 8D

... I do notice some astounding similarities between this picture and most of my Astrobunny designs, aside from the colour and species of course. I blame my subconscious. I hope you find this as amusing and enjoyable as I did drawing it ^_^

Lol, not quite, although I have seen photos on mocpages.com that show a set of Alpha Team legs, which fit perfectly with both the original Blacktron torso and the newer one from the recent Space Police 3 theme ^_^ now if only I had a pair... XP

3-star fav for my all time favorite Lego minifig style. I claimed it to represent the "me" character in all my Lego adventures. I thought about updating the head piece over the years with some of the cooler newer designs (in fact, I think I may have considered the very one you use there), but ultimately I decided against it. I replaced the badly beaten up original body several years ago with a good condition one I picked up, but I've kept the head piece so that it would still be the "same" figure as the original.

Cool, thanks ^_^ though for 'me' as a minifig I sorta kept swapping between one of these heads and one of these.
I should have thought of this before, but for this picture, in an attempt to give the old school designs some of that modern look (hoping the links work) I combined the first one with this and this.
Also, I've always loved the Blacktron I theme but only knew about them through an old catalog poster, so I had to use an old police torso with every other peice black, or the aquashark torso, which I gave yellow hips, black legs and yellow arms with black gloves... simulating the Blacktron I vehicle colour scheme, oddly enough XD ah, those were the days...

It was that last head design in particular that I had considered using for myself. It was the closest I'd ever come across to some of the sketches I'd tried to do of the non-Lego version of the character.

I never did get any Blacktron sets myself, but I did get this big Space Police prison set one year, which came with a Blacktron figure to be locked up in the jail. I didn't care if it was supposed to be the bad guy of course, hehe.

Well, the bad guys are supposed to get all the cool stuff, aren't they? X3
I never got any of them either, in fact some of my favourite minifigs are a Spyrius dude (I actually have both heads: headband and the beard, which I always thought was from a castle set), a Blacktron II minifig and a red Classic Space torso (which I totally nicked from someone)... I remember we used to swap pieces so we could borrow them for a while, which is probably where all my 'missing' pieces still are... but I guess I just sorta kept them! XD

Blacktron II minifigs were never as cool as the originals. Liked the sets though. All that lovely neon yellow-green transparent stuff. I always brought out my blacklight to make it all glow.
