Epilogue of a little series I am drawing where Ion, due to his serous injury where he went into cardiac arrest and almost died years ago, left some permanent damage to the left side of his heart, causing irregular heart beat that required a pacemaker to make it function somewhat normally. Over time though the left side of his heart weakens causing both aortic and mitral regurgitation, to a point where he has to undergo open heart surgery to replace both. I wasn't really happy with how I ended it so I am doing one final piece
Zephyr glanced over at Ion beside him and saw that he was finally soundly asleep, getting that much needed rest after coming home from the hospital earlier that day. Zephyr turned on his side to face Ion and placed one of his hands on Ion's chest, he could feel the skin staples that were keeping his chest incision closed though he thought they could be removed by now but Meeka always wants to overly make sure everything is healed up. Zephyr usually loves Ion's thicker chest fluff but it was still shaved down a bit from his surgery though what Zephyr really wanted to feel was Ion's heart beat in his hand again. Pressing his hand down, he could start to feel the soft beating from inside Ion's chest, coming from his newly fixed up heart, pounding strongly and vibrantly. Soft snores could be heard coming from Ion's mouth as Zephyr continued to lie there feeling that heart beat that he loved while Ion's chest continued to rise and fall. This put Zephyr's mind at peace, knowing that the one he loved was back at home with him, alive and well, where he could hold and feel him again.
Before trying to fall asleep himself, Zephyr leaned over to Ion's head and gave him a small peck on the cheek, though as he did, he heard Ion softly mumble something spicy. Zephyr quickly did a double take to make sure Ion was still asleep, though his mumbling was still continuing. Zephyr though that Ion might be having a fairly great dream and after sliding his hand down the covers a bit, he could feel that Ion was. Ion's mumbling turned into cute little moans as Zephyr kept wondering if Ion was still asleep or just playing with him. Whatever Ion was doing, Zephyr slid his hand back up to Ion's chest as his soft mumbles and moans started to subside after Zephyr did his little feel. Zephyr quietly told Ion sweet dreams as a small smile could started to be scene on his face before Zephyr closed his eyes and fell asleep himself, together again with his arms wrapped around the person he loved most.
After a few weeks of rest and recover at home, Ion was cleared to go back to his Hunting and back to resuming his normal life ~
