People screaming at the sight of Veli stealing some food, Sonic thinking she is a dangerous creature tries to stop her but Tails thinks something wasn't normal about this nightmare. Once Tails was face to face with the Nightmare he offered food to Veli which she was scared but slowly accepted the offer. Tails was able to see past Veli appearance and seen she is a kind creature inside and wanted to help. Tails slowly gain Veli trust and lead her home to his lab which Tails offered Veli to stay as long as she wants. Weeks went by as Sonic doesn't know about what Tails is hiding in the lab until one day Sonic was checking up Tails at night and spots the nightmare in his lab. Sonic was about to attack her when Tails intervene. Sonic angrily ask Tails why he let a Nightmare of Dark Gaia in his home and that she is dangerous. Tails explain that Veli may be a nightmare but she doesn't seem to want to harm anyone and that he wanted to try and help. Though Sonic is concern for his best friend safety he allow Veli to stay but will keep a close eye on her. Veli was happy by Tails Selflessness and gave him a hug, Tails did feel Veli body was cold but to the touch he let Veli hug him.
Veli and Tails both have the same sad backstory so they would became fast friends. Though Sonic is the one who doesn't trust her, and is worried for his friend.
