Damn, grew up with the franco-belgian comics and it always breaks my heart when one of the creators pass away. I was more an admirer of Franquin with Gaston Lagaffe as well as Spirou and Fantasio, but Asterix and Obelix played a big, big part in my childhood just as well.

Ech. Not a bad age and not the worst way to go I suppose. Still sucks though. Asterix and Obelix was a huge part of my childhood. Both the comics and the movies. Its certainly a legacy to leave behind. Respect.

Though not very well known in the US the 2 peoples art was very popular and enjoyable for many poeple i think mainly in europe but they shall be missed along with the other great artist gone from our time.
