Bats have it easy. They can read in the dark any time they want. All they have to do is scream at the paper until they understand what's going on with the plot.
This is Olivia, she's a bat girl I've been meaning to create/draw for years now. She lives on Wicked Forest, a planet I've decided to be Raegal's home. (Notice how I usually draw him with a bunch of purple shit? That's why.) She and Raegal are buddies. :3

Wicked Forest is called such because of it's rare violet species of flora that covers most of the surface of the planet facing the local star, a Class Y Brown Dwarf the planet orbits very closely, as brown dwarves are among the lowest temperature stars in known space, yet the planet is close enough to be within the Goldilocks zone, and thus sustains life. The planet itself is tidally locked, so as it orbits the star, it is forever daytime on one side, and night time on the other. The dark side is uninhabitable, as the temperatures there are extremely cold, however on the side facing the star, the temperatures are about as hot as the Mojave Desert on Earth. The massive forest that covers this small planet has a sinister reputation thanks to it's guardian, Raegal, whom protects it with lethal force from those who would seek to harvest it's trees, or otherwise harm the forest. Those who enter with ill intent shall be met with certain and painful death, but if you are pure of intention and offer snacks and sweets to the guardian of the forest, you will meet no harm. Natives to the planet tend to be born with some modest skill in Void magic, and it's practice is seen extensively throughout the local communities, often in the form of glowing blue wisps used for light.
