The main protagonists are a fox cub named *Mic and his turkey friend, Gobble-Gobble. The stories are fine, albeit I'd say the first one is best overall.
*I feel his name should be spelled 'M-I-C-K', but whatever.
Mic, obviously, is my favorite character here, Aesthetically, I think Mic is cute (sure), albeit he oddly looks better in motion than in stills (the other characters are fine either way).
Mic is cute, plump and pillow-like---it's a bit hard to describe, but trust when I say he looks good in motion (*I esp. like his mouth animations).
*as a cartooner who mostly draws characters characters not of their own design (i.e., TV characters and so forth), I can say (one reason) I do so is for the love of 'cartoon' as an art style/form; I like the exaggerated/downplayed/simplified aesthetics of cartoon animals, so I tend to look their details over more than I should ...and I like what I saw here. ^^ :3 On another note, I sometimes like it when the characters aren't drawn consistently---I can sometimes tell when a given character (in any series) is passed from one animator to another. In Mic's case, he would be given short, stocky legs, then long, slender ones (the shape of his muzzle would also change, slightly). I like that (personally, the short legs looked better to me, albeit I drew Mic with longer legs for the sake of his ACEO pose).
Anyway...
In my pen, Mic kinda looks like Roadie the Ranch Dog (boy, that's a name I haven't read in a while). I'm not exactly sure what Mic's looking up at here---a butterball, perhaps? *shot*
*ahem*
What's more, Mic's tail doesn't fit within the boundaries of the ACO. I like the effect, but I'll have to crease it in order to fit the card in my binder (I really don't care). ^^ In thought of this, I could draw the color line on the other side, creating a '3D' look when the card's lying flat on a surface. I'm rambling. :P
Anyway, an AECO card like this generally takes only twenty minutes or so to make, minus any practice sketchings and/or the time needed for clean up. This one, however, took a while. Why?
Well, since my 'wife' died in 2018, I've had a strange uneasiness with silence---I need background noise, such as a fan or a radio going, otherwise I become anxious. While drawing this, I decided to let a movie play in the background. I chose to play 'The Secret of NIMH 2' for the purpose. As if that wasn't bad enough, I happened to notice the movie's release date: 1998.
...I felt really, really old. :P
Where was I in 1998? I was fresh out of the group home I'd been brooding in, back to my grandmother's house. I didn't yet have a job, but I had a Playstation (PS1) and a copy of Final Fantasy VII. I recall spending many hours level grinding that game, and doing little else.
I gave more thought to that: it's been 22 years since I last collected a materia. It's been 22 years since I last cast an Ice3 spell on Jumping. If that's not too abstract (for those on the outside looking in), I wasn't even 22 years old when I last played that game ...22 years ago. I didn't know, then, what a URL was---I'd not even used a computer. I'd never read the word 'Pikachu', nor had I any awareness of the furry community. Seems so freaking long ago, yet I remember those days well---they don't seem distant at all until I think 'That was over twenty years ago'.
Statistically, as a white male living in North America, I have a life expectancy of about 75-80 years ...I've lived more than half my life. And, adding to that, it's been a month and some change since we've entered the 2020's---we're already a quarter through the second month of the 2020's first year (as of writing)! D:
Mortality, God, religion, existence... these are the reasons I need a fan going, lest I hear nothing but my own thoughts.
