Horned Hope Lives Up High in Lhasa

As an aspiring monastic bound dutifully to enlightenment, Elias acknowledges that memorizing the scriptures is almost as necessary as taking them to heart. Though, having essentially gotten the lessons before now firmly rooted in his mind, he endeavors to further enrich himself by running it back with application to personal experiences prior to now. This leads to a commercial train of thought taking him on a ride through several internal diatribes of a monk with a bright future ahead of him once he understands it all more with time. Much of everything else is taken out of focus around him while he ponders with his nose buried deeply between the remedial refresher session and his most fresh realizations as he beats the newly routed path into solidarity.

Yeah, I tried something interesting with this background and I like the result all the same. Putting the background so far onto the background, digital art becomes traditional in spirit and the words form the lay of the land. It, also, let me play around with minimalist background elements, too, and styling it up for the old paper look. I hope you guys enjoy this little guy's journey in his life away from the usual on the physical side. Note how he has pupils and his horn glows, here, which only occurs when he's on the material plane. You guys have only ever seen Elias on the physical side once before now, so this is a more noticeable view of his ability in play. Below are the full caption of his thoughts so far:

"In breathing, one can apply the focus on filling the lungs in controlled increments to hone the focus and to really get a feel for the bounds of the body. When one transitions into the feeling the whole body stage, it applies that sharpened focus throughout the body. Focusing and sensing what more there is to feel at a passive level and is taken as a given when people grow too used to their body. Something so standard and not really thought about being brought to focus and making us think why it is second nature to begin with. Maybe something so supernatural like me can really focus on this since it really isn't second nature entirely like it is for folk born here. It's fascinating how we don't have forms like these on the other side to make these sorts of realizations because of how much more there is to feel in the body, and I'm built in a different way from the others. It doesn't make me any less alive, and it certainly makes me feel and understand being alive. Human, too, even. All it took was a man's observations to transcend time itself and still be truly relevant all these years to really make people think about being alive more than normal. It's no surprise the Buddha's words are timeless. I wonder if he's still around in spirit or if he transcended even that. He could be extending his teachings to the souls of others if not reexperiencing life in a new form, elsewhere. His teachings are applicable far beyond just the material plane he walked to discuss his intuitions and could ease a conflicted soul clinging to past life dilemmas no matter where their soul exists. Sounds like something I could be of help with, too, someday, once I reach that level of experience."

"There's a recurring theme of duality in observing these things in and around us as people and perspective with being able to see how one processes the world for yourself to process it, too. A form of shared experience and communication through coexisting. It's this way, everyone can improve and learn together, and that's through paying attention to those around us for more than conversation and idle curiousity. Catching these nuances and finding common ground might make you learn more about yourself or someone else that you can help them with and vice versa. Even so, it's more about observing things to heighten awareness in general in order to approach the state of enlightenment, and one can't do that without understanding how to be in the right mindset. To do that, one must let themselves become free of cravings, doubts, and other things that will break that concentration. Man, beast, and entity, alike, can relate, here, which means we can all set these aside to become clear in mind and heart. This is Zen, which can bring a wellspring of benefits to become truly attentive and proactive. With this, enlightenment comes with steady and trained mind and heart and it's here that the mind and heart can be trained and solidified when these teachings are followed however one comes in contact with them. It's like it can take being enlightened to reach enlightenment, like how one might require these teachings in order to reach this state of mind and improve life for themselves and others around them. Even so, one can reach this state of mind without these teachings and not know exactly how they got there and how they can maintain their internal harmony without much life experience to make these conclusions evident. With this, comes the need to maintain and diagnose when one is missing something in their mind to remain enlightened, which comes differently for all, but is achieved with the path these scriptures discuss. They're worded and written with such detailed precision to level with heaps of people while leaving the door open to special cases, as they appeal to all on such a common level. Things I know that nag at folk I know could be understood better by them to work past their hinderances thanks to the approaches written here. Even if their hitches go farther than just the hinderance stages, they can work through other things with the teachings' methods, themselves, instead of directly focusing on the section that applies to their ails specifically."

"At first, I went in thinking this was just a house of worship to a diety, but it's different than that. It's truly a school of thought on it's own founded by a man just like anyone else creating a guidebook for his fellow man to follow. Maybe, at first, it was only for the devout followers and accolytes that joined him on his journey, but all can learn from this if the word were spread. It could have seemed more closed because of the requirements in rising through the ranks and the vows one must keep to maintain purity of mind and heart. Understandably, people may not be able to conform to the prerequisites, but the teachings are likely viable all the same. Perhaps we can give samples of the word to others to send them on the right path. I'm here to help, after all, and I'll gladly extend some of these findings to those at home, but only sparingly whenever the time would call in the event they could use guidance. That's largely what the Buddha's teachings are, and likely, any other more commonplace religion: guidance. If they decide to follow in these teachings on that side, then, maybe, I can teach them when I'm ready and of rank. That's for later, though, I've been here for a while, but I've still a long way. In a way, it's a double life in being here amongst humans on the physical plane when away from home, but it's a happy one nonetheless, and one learns things, here, that can't be picked up there. It's thanks to the things I've come to love most in having a physical body that got me to learn that much more about moderation and not letting these experiences of the flesh define joy on this side or the other. My half-incubus blood may remain, but I'm still capable of making my own decisions and doing with myself as I must responsibly despite the calls of my born in gifts from Dad's side. Mom's gifts have brought me here to this plane and I thank her very much for it. Being amongst humans has taught me and made me realize just how alike we and humans are at the level of reason, which is more important than anything else that could divide us. Reason is the most powerful tool we are all given, and, in the hands of good hearts, can unite all under a peaceful banner."
