I haven't seen a battle-mech with fully articulated hands before. Not even grippers or claws. That might be useful.

They've been around since the beginning and were never lost through the Succession Wars. They're controlled with special manipulators within the gloves of a MechWarrior's suit, toggled, of course.
Hands are just not stressed much in the video games because -- except for HBS BattleTech -- there's never been a melee system, and in ANY video game you can't pick anything up with your hands. But all of that is possible in the tabletop.

Ever saw an Atlas? Or if you want a Melee mech, Go for the Berserker. This 100 ton monster wields a 7 ton Axe. In its newest variant equipped also with Triple myomeres for double the Damage.

Yeah, I'm very aware of the Atlas and Berserker. I feel like this was meant to be a reply to

yeah I have to admit, my exposure to battletech is heavily video game biased, although I did read a number of books.

Well my most favored Melee mech is the capellan Ti Tsang. It weights only 65 tons, but can reach 110 kph if triple myomere is activated. And the heat is easy to get and to hold at 9 (The heat value to activate tsm.)

Use the Reply link. Blackraven isn't going to see these if you don't.

The Merlin? Oh Wow. the original construction demonstrator in the first box set I ever owned...
it's a bit ugly, but then again I love the A-10 Warthog, so who am I to judge, right?
