Not really sure why his horn secretions are why she's 'thinking irrationally'; her reaction so far seems completely understandable and can be explained without introducing weird hormone drugs, but I guess some stuff happened off-screen.
Unless... her behaviour has changed in ways she doesn't know about, and THAT'S why everyone else in the force is distancing themselves from her? As far as we know she's acting normally, but since she's the narrator her own recollection and understanding of what she's doing might not line up with reality.
That would be quite a "Fight Club" level bombshell, actually.
