Well happy friggin' New Year, everybody! I've been quiet for a very long time, and there's more than a few reasons for that. Real life got very turbulent for a while, instability gets the best of us sometimes. Things have finally evened out, and I'm happy to say I'm in a great headspace to be writing again! Woot woot. Now, some of you may have already noticed my return, as this journal isn't being posted until a few of my new stories have come out. Thank you VERY much to my watchers, supporters and fans who have stuck around and remain patrons to my work. It means a lot, truly.
That being said! My rates have ch-ch-ch-ch-C H A N G E D. That's correct! I have made another increase to my commission rates effective January 1, 2020. This means that if you have previously commissioned me, things are different now! For veteran clients who have multiple commissions under their belt, I will be giving a discount that is determined on a personal basis. For the rest of you guys, new clients the rate is $30/Chapter. I can solemnly guarantee from this point forward that my rates will never increase again, this is the highest they will go. Payments are still via Paypal, all other parts of my Commission T.O.S. is still in effect and whatnot. Feel free to shoot me any questions via DM.
SO. Why the hell do I charge $30/Chapter? What the hell is a 'Chapter'? Why am I any different than Jim, Joe or Johnny who also writes commission-based fanfiction? I get these sorts of questions a lot, especially with the hike in price. So let's break it down a little bit for you guys, help you understand my price structure and product information.
I do not employ the usage of 'word counts' in my writing. I chose a different unit of content measurement I call 'Chapters'. Are they as long as a Chapter in your favorite fiction novel? No, absolutely not. I wanted to stand out from other authors in this sense. Most charge by word count. At the time of posting, the highest rate on the market for creative writing was $45/1,000 Words. So what exactly is a Chapter and how does it compare to that? In the fabulous world of Kaz, a 'Chapter' consists of THREE(3) pages in Microsoft Word at 11pt Calibri. Chapter titles are Bold, 16pt Calibri along with the story title itself. The page breaks are dictated by my copy of Microsoft Word. Line spacing is 1.15.
So, now you're scratching your head, right? What the hell? So how many words is it..? When so many artists choose to use this format for product description, it becomes common and understandable to the public. So to put it simply, one of my 'Chapter' units equals roughly 1,800 words on average. Some Chapters run closer to 2,000 words. Others may be 1,600 words. In any situation, I can guarantee a higher word count in one of my Chapters than any other artist's single unit of product. So, looking at other artists who want $30 or $45 per 1,000 words, I am asking $30 per 1,800 words on average. That's nearly double the quantity at the same price.
Well why don't you just switch over to using a Word Count method? To answer plainly, I'm stubborn and set in my ways. I enjoy my method of product separation, the Chapter units work nicely for me. If that's not for you, then simply don't commission me! I will not lower my price or give discounts simply because somebody else may have a 'better' price for their content than I. I'm sorry :( I work hard on my content.
With all of that in mind, I'm WIDE OPEN for commissions at this point. I am back in full swing, commissions will be completed within 1-3 days of payment! Payments must now be made IN FULL before work will begin on the project. I no longer offer convenient per-chapter payment plans or structured financing on my commissions. I will update the T.O.S. journal on my Furaffinity and Inkbunny with this change shortly.
