A Fond Memory: Xander! Xander! I’m back! The voice was always so familiar, always so happy to see him and always came running when returning to the heavens. Or whatever a floating soul could consider running. Alexander set down his quill and closed his book before turning to greet the little soul. “Hello again little one. How was your adventure this time?” Time was unnecessary for the ageless angel, but the little soul was still happy to tell him all about its time on the surface below. He had to chuckle as the small pulse and warmth came from the soul rubbing against his cheek while talking to him. Even as he continued to greet and guide the other entering souls, Alexander still listened to his friend until the time came for it to return to the surface for another life. Xander, what happens if I don’t want to go down there anymore? “That’s not a question I can answer little one.” They sat together, looking down at the glittering lights from the world below. The soul carefully settled on his shoulder to stay close to him and basking in the warmth that came from the angel of rebirth. How come you always call me little one and not a name? “Because you have had many names in the lives you have lived, haven’t you?” Yeah, but you have a name and I picked out a really good one for myself. “Oh? And what would that be, my friend?” He smiled as the little soul pusled happily against his cheek. My name is Seth. Don’t forget it okay? I’ll be mad if you do when I come back again. “I will not, Seth. Are you ready to go?” Very carefully, Alexander collected the soul in his hands and got up to head over to the gateway. I am. But the next time I come back, I have a favor to ask. “I will try my best to fulfill it when you do. Until we meet again young Seth.” And with that he released the pulsing light, watching as it flew like a shooting star towards the surface. Time held no meaning here, but the Angel was excited for when they saw another again. |
