Fernald's Nightmare
"Wanna Come to Jesus With Me?"
Fernald's Nightmare
Hallo Fräuleins!
+2
Fernald praying, devout Christian that he is. His faith means a lot to him and he feels very close to God, no matter what happens to him. He was raised by evangelical Christian parents, but is a very loving and gentle soul who comes to reject his fundamentalist pastor's fire-and-brimstone "God hates fags" rhetoric and generally just loves everyone. Basically, he's a sap, but a sweetheart. This was drawn because I wanted to see what his head looked like from the side as opposed to straight on like in other pics.

God does not hate "fags", but He does hate sin.

True, but homosexuality is often equated with sin, and there are people who say "God hates fags" or at least focus on homosexuality to the exclusion of almost all other sins mentioned in the Bible, so "God hates fags" (or at least "God strongly disapproves of fags) is in fact a viewpoint many in the Christian community have/have had, as is, in general, an obsession with sin in general, therefore Fernald's rejection of this view and his embracing of the positive aspects Christianity has to offer and opening a gay-friendly church is meant to be indicative of him being a kind and gentle soul as opposed to one more focused on what people are doing wrong.

Understand, but it could be much worse if we look at islamic countries. Which is not to say all Muslims are like that, certainly not. But Islamic NATIONS are another thing.

How do people come to faith and religion? Sure, there are kids raised in religious families who grow up with these traditions. But often, an adult starts getting interested in religion out of nowhere, or even radically changes their lifestyle. Why does this happen?

Who said he became religious as an adult? He is from a religious family. As to why some adults become religious despite not coming from religious backgrounds, it depends on the individual.

Often, an adult turns to God and dives into religion after serious life events. Sometimes it's illnesses, terrible accidents, death, and loss — things that can deeply impact a person and make them reconsider everything they've ever done and how they've lived. Maybe that's how it is for me with numerology. After certain events in my life, I started noticing the same numbers everywhere, like 222, and began looking for more info on resources like Esoteric Lounge. I think these repetitions and coincidences can mean a lot and might even be signs from fate that shouldn't be ignored.
