The setting is Duran, New Mexico on a July night in 1960. It is going on 2:09 am, which is approximately two minutes after the 80 mph passenger train went through Duran at 2:07 am.

For the perspective, the value of a vanishing point can never be overstated.
For night effect, what works good for me is going on Paint.net and type in the colour name "352738". Then set the transparency for about 16 or higher, then go over the drawing until the desired results are achieved...For anything lit up at night, I do that by redrawing that object in the brighter colours.
