Chapter One
Isrisu’s story
Warning this involves mature language and drama if you do not like ether of these I have given you a fair warning to stop now if not please enjoy one of my first stories and please no extremely negative comments I will accept positive criticism. Now that I have gotten that out of the way please enjoy the first installment of this series.
It was around 10 at night when Isrisu was rudely awaken by the angry yelling coming from the living room and from what he could make out from it the situation was getting worse the longer it continued. After about five minutes he started hearing a voice he came to love more than his parents themselves it was that of his brother Aka, the one who he was closest to and who mainly helped raise him, and by the way it sounded he was in a very bad place and needed to get away. When he heard Aka’s nearly fear filled voice he realized what all the yelling was about, it was over Aka’s boyfriend and about how his parents thought what he was doing was wrong. Isrisu was scared over what was about to happen he was only 7 and he didn’t want to lose the only friend he could count on in his life and all he could do is cover his ears and try to block out the yelling it didn’t work though as he heard the words he never wanted to hear “get the fuck out of my house you disgusting piece of trash I can’t even stand to look at you anymore”. Isrisu heard those words and instantly broke out in tears he never in his life thought his brother would ever leave him alone in the house, but it was happening his nightmare came true and he never in his life wanted to lose him. He curled himself into a ball as he grabbed his tail tight for comfort as he always hug his brothers during their parents fights after they went to bed. After all the yelling he hears some doors slam and heavy footsteps past his door. The next thing he heard was his door slowly open and he quickly acted like he was fast asleep. He heard someone slowly tiptoe to his bed and then felt a presence lightly sit on his bed.
A few seconds later there was a quiet voice that said “I’m so this is happening I hope I can see you soon I never wanted to leave you alone here but……. I’m so sorry”. Isrisu know who it was and instantly jumped up and grabbed his brother bawling his eyes out. “Why, why do you have to leave? You never had trouble when I was with you guys why do they have a problem with it. Tell me why they hate you for this?” he asked Aka between sobs. All he heard was “I’m sorry I never thought they would find out about me and him and I never want you to forget I love you.” There was a few seconds of silence Aka said “I have to go now but I want you to know I will try and see you when I can I will never leave you please don’t cry it’s got nothing to do with you so please just go to bed I’ll try and be back as soon as I can… I promise you that much.” Aka tucked Isrisu in and slowly snuck over to his dresser to begin packing.
After that night Isrisu’s life was greatly depressing as all he had at home was drunken yelling or sober arguments over what needs to happen that moment of time. What little happiness he had in his life over the years after his life took a turn for the worse were moments he could see his brother, even if it had to be in secret. Isrisu would say or do anything to see Aka even if it meant skipping school, which Aka never wanted him to do. Their parents never knew they were meeting secretly until the one day that they drove by and seen them eating together. They instantly stopped the car and jumped out to separate the brothers. Isrisu began to cry as he lost his brother for a second time to his knowledge that is for the events coming next would change his life forever.
As the family drove down the street leaving Aka behind they began to yell at the cub who only wanted nothing more than to see his brother again. As Isrisu’s father began yelling at him he looked away from the road and the vehicle drove head first into a wall killing both the adults in the car and leaving the cub in serious condition. He never once thought that this could happen, not once did he think that he would be killed for seeing someone whom he enjoyed to be with when they were ripe out of his life with no explanation at all. Isrisu later woke up to find his brother sitting next to his bed in the hospital he could barely see but he was sure it was him and the only thing he heard when he awoke was “HURRY SOMEONE GET A NURSE HE’S AWAKE SOMEONE HURRY, OH GOD PLEASE HURRY” and he wondered why someone was so worried about his awakening. Later that day he found out that he was in a coma for over a week and had no signs of coming out of it, he also learned that his brother never left his side the entire time for fear of losing him forever. “Why am I hear, what happened to me?” asked Isrisu not recalling what happened that day. All Aka could tell him was “I’m sorry, it’s all my fault, I should have never been so thoughtless when we were out. I’m not going to sugar coat it for ya you deserve to know that mom and dad are dead…. They died on impact when they hit the wall.” Once Isrisu heard that tears just fled his eyes and all he could muster up between sobs was “What happened to me?” Without hesitation Aka told him everything and what he was planning on doing when he got out of the hospital.
Isrisu stared at him for a few minute with a horrid look on his face and the event that he was a part of was explained to him. A few hours of sobbing and questioning the doctor finally arrived “about god damn time someone got here.” Aka said under his breath as he started to look over the charts for his little brother, “How’s he doing, Will he be alright?” he asked as he watched with widened eyes. “He should be good to go after a few days at least that’s what the charts say.” The doctor said as a cheap way to get a laugh out of the little cub. The little cub just stared at him with his tear filled eyes then turned back to his brother and asked “What’s going to happen to me, where am I going to go? I don’t want to lose you forever please don’t leave me.” Aka looked at him and said “I will do anything in my power to keep you close and as long as I have someplace to live you will be damn sure that you will to.” They both started to grin happily at each other.
A few days past and Isrisu slowly got better and soon was well enough to go home. He was unsure on where he was going for no one was there to get him. Isrisu started to worry thinking that Aka forgot about him and he would go now and many more thoughts started to scare the little cub until he heard a familiar voice from behind him. “Are ya ready to go yet?” Isrisu spun around as fast as the wheelchair could go to see Aka standing there with the goofiest grin on his face. “What are you grinning like that for are you planning something? I’m not sure if I can trust you now.” He said and Aka replied, “Cant I smile and be happy that my lil’ bro is out of this place or you telling me I can’t be happy?” They shared a laugh before leaving the hospital. They head to the car and Aka helps his bro into the car as he was still recovering from the event that happened.
The car ride home was a little eerie as Isrisu has never been in Aka’s car before and to his surprise it was rather new and looked pretty expensive. He never thought that his brother could afford sure a nice thing as he was only 21 and as most people his age he thought he would have a Junker. Little to Isrisu’s ideas, his brother was a lot better off then when he was living with their parents before he got kicked out for he didn’t even have a job when that happened. Eventually Aka broke the silence by saying “so how long till you get that cast off?” and the reply was “huh what, oh this thing he said it would talk a month or two before he can take it off but it depends on how fast it heals I guess.” The silence proceeded after the question until the car was shut off.
They both got out of the car and Isrisu followed his brother and grips his hand tight as they walked to his apartment. “Are we almost there?” Isrisu whispered as they walked up some stairs. As he was hugging close to Aka they reached his floor, Aka looked at his brother and said, “Remember were on floor 4 now and its only a few more feet and will be at my or should I say our place.” Then out from the corner of the hallway comes a little dragon boy running full speed towards them. The little dragon boy tries to stop but instead slides and falls right before the two and all they heard from the little one was “Hay I’m Sazume” as he grinned as big as the little dragon could grin. Isrisu darted behind his brother and tried to hide from the nosy dragon but it didn’t work very well as he was couldn’t hide. “What’s your name” Sazume asked. All he got was a quiet mumble. “I can’t hear you what chu say” he asked as he got a little closer. “I…I..I’m Isrisu” he whispered. Saz looked at him like he was weird and said “That’s a funny name but I like it, you can call me Saz by the way cus everyone does hehe” Saz looked down and noticed the tails that the brothers shared “That is sooooooo cool you both have two of those I wish I did, all I got are these” He said as he spread out his wings. “Whhhhooooaaaaaa” was the only thing that escaped Isrisu’s mouth as he stared in awe at Saz’s wingspan. The little cubs eyes grew as he seen the wings and slowly got closer, then he darted back behind his brother when Saz held out his hand to shake. “What’s wrong I just wanted to shake your hand what do you not like shaking hands or something?” Saz asked. “No he’s just been through a lot in the past few weeks” Aka said as he was being griped tightly by Isrisu. “I think we should try and get him settled in for now, maybe later you two can play some.” He told Saz. “I hope so cus it sounds awesome and at least I know I’m not the only kid here anymore.” Sazume said as he walked towards the start to where ever he was going. The two foxes slowly made it to the apartment as Aka had been griped tightly on the leg by his little brother and he didn’t care as he knew it was just because he was scared about being here, but once they made it through the door he slowly let go and looked around. “Are you rich or sometin?” he asked Aka. “Not really I just worked hard and saved up a little along with some side work I just got lucky basically well just a few years after I got kicked out I mean.”
After a few minutes of slowly shuffling his way around the floor to each room he noticed one that had a bed his size and a dresser that was all he saw to as he had no idea what it was doing in there until Aka told him it was his room. He was surprised at how he already had a room and he just got there as it was kind of last minute he was happy but a little sad at the same time. “Um where you at, case I need you for something?” he asked. “Right across the hall from yah so don’t worry I’m going to be like 10 feet away.” Aka replied, “Now get settled quickly as you have school tomorrow I put you in a new one sadly but it was because it was closer than the 30 minute drive to your old one I really hope your ok with that.” All that Isrisu gave his brother was a sigh and a nod for a sign that he understood. Later that night he had a nightmare of the incident and woke up running to his brother’s room. He shakes Aka awake and asks “Can I sleep in your bed tonight….. pleeeeaaaassseee?” Aka replied, “Sure bud no problem, did you have a nightmare?” “Yeah” Isrisu said before drifting back asleep in a sense of safety next to his brother.
The next day the young cub found himself waking up alone for the older fox woke up and was fully dressed ready to take him to school for his first day. “Better hurry and get ready, you have a big day today, and don’t worry I’m taking you there and everything as I still need to finish some paperwork for them.” Aka told the young cub that was still wiping his eyes. “Don’t you have a job to go to or something though?” the little cub asked. The only answer he ever got was “That’s not important.” So the little kit got ready but took his time trying to drag on the morning as long as he could for he didn’t like going to school like most his age. After about 20 minutes he started pouring himself a bowl of cereal and began eating it at the table. He started swinging his legs as they didn’t reach the floor because he wasn’t very tall and started to play with his breakfast. “Do I really have to go cant I just stay here for another day?” and with that question he was given a look that gave him his answer. The kit finally finished his food and dragged his feet on the way out to the car. When he got to school he started to see a lot of other furs his age and his shyness began to show. He never liked to be around people he didn’t know for he felt like they would make fun of him for being short or having 2 tails one of the features him and his brother got from their mother and one Isrisu held much attachment to. They got out of the car and the little kit grabbed tightly to his brothers hand as they walked up and into the school. After a few minute of trying to navigate through the halls they found the office and Aka started to finish up the paperwork he needed to finish. “Ok your now officially in this school.” said the lady behind the desk, “Are you ready to go to class?” she asked the cub. He gripped Aka’s hand tighter and tried to hide for the school secretary. She gave Aka some papers and they walked off to Isrisu’s class. They get to the door and the older fox tells the younger one “Ok now, I’ll be back here to pick up after you get out.” the little looked up with watery eyes and said “WHAT YOUR LEAVING ME HERE ALONE?” Aka nodded and said “I have to I’m not the one who has to go to school anymore you are and like I said don’t worry I will be here around 3:30 because that’s when you get out.” They hugged goodbye and the kit was nudged through the door.
Isrisu slowly made his way into the classroom which was full of other furs his age talking amongst each other and he made his way to the back corner of the room to find himself a seat where he thought no one would see him. Little to his knowledge, a young fur that went by the name ShadowKai spotted him as he sat down two seats away from her. “Just so you know we have assigned seats. If you want the seat next to me is empty.” He gave a horrid blank stare as she spoke to him. “Are you ok?” she asked. “Y…y…yyeah.” Was the only thing he could muster up and say to her. “I’m ShadowKai, but everyone just calls me SK.” She said as she extended her paw to him. He froze as he thought his heart was stopping. “Hello, anyone there, HELLO?” She said as she stared at his frozen stance. “I-i-i-i…… I’m Isrisu.” He softly whispered to her. “Well nice to meet you I see today’s your first day….” She was shortly cut off by the rest of the kids for they heard that he was new and all of them turned around and shouted “IT’S A NEW KID!!!!!” Isrisu almost died for everyone is looking at him now. The class bell and he was so relieved that it did for everyone sat in their sets except for him as he didn’t have a seat yet. “Well, well who do we have here, you must be Is-re-so is it?” the teacher said as she stood next to him. “It’s Isrisu maim.” He softly said as he stared at the floor. “Well you can have a seat right here next to SK is that fine with you missy?” she said and asked. “Sure” SK replied. “Good if it’s ok with the both of you Sk can you share your books with Isrisu is it?” the teacher said. All the little cub could say in a soft spoken voice was, “Yes it is and ok.” The teacher soon walked away and began teaching the class.
Isrisu sat down and slid his desk next to the female fur. After a few hours of the most boring lesson ever in the world Isrisu thought at least he thought he had. Without warning he heard the lunch bell ring and everyone ran out of the class leaving him wondering where everyone was going. After a minute or so Sk asked him “you got a lunch right?” He didn’t know if he did or not he looked in his backpack with a worried expression thinking he forgot to make it, but luckily his big brother saved him by packing it while he was asleep. Isrisu grabbed he started to follow his new friend down to the cafeteria. As they reached the door Isrisu noticed someone out of the corner of his eye he turned to see Saz heading towards him at a fast past. The only thing that Isrisu could think of was to stand there frozen until someone broke the silence.
“Hay I remember you, your that apartment owner guys ummm brother right?”Saz asked. “Wait who, what now, did you say apartment owner?” he replied. “Yeah he owns the entire building, I thought you knew?” Saz asked. After a few minutes of silence they sat down and started eating and Isrisu finally gained enough courage to ask “Do you know if he does anything else?” Saz just gave a confused expression as he thought that the cub would know what his brother was or at least what he did for a living so all he told him was “All I know is he owns the building and he has to be rich cuz he owns the whole building and stuff you are lucky man.” Isrisu couldn’t believe his own brother could own an entire building because the last time he knew his brother didn’t have a job. This day was becoming more and more confusing for the little kit and he didn’t like how everyone knew more about his brother then he did.
They finally finished lunch and where heading outside for recess and as soon as they reached the concrete they could see that all the other cubs that were in their lunch group were running around and yelling like crazy. Sk was the first to make a move dragging the other two with her towards some open swings. “Come on guys before someone takes them.” They got there just in time to as when they started to sit down other furs were trying to get to a seat.
They all swung for a little but before Isrisu asked some more questions. “Hay Saz, um how long has my brother owned that place for?” hoping he would get some answers about his brother for once. “Not long I think for like the past few years. Don’t you know anything about him I mean he’s your brother? Most people I know that have brothers know a lot about them.” That statement hit Isrisu hard for he didn’t know much about his brother other then what little they got to talk about silence soon followed this statement. ShadowKai had to change the subject for she was getting a little uncomfortable about the current one. “So Isrisu, how’d you get that cast on your arm?” he froze and almost started to cry as the image of that day ran through his mind over and over again now. “Oh my god, are you ok? What’s wrong?” Saz jumped up as he seen his friend almost bust out in tears. “I…i…i..i.. I got this cast the day my parents died.” Isrisu said as he started crying he tried to run inside to hind but Saz grabbed his arm and pulled him into a giant hug. Saz felt two arms swing around him tight and wet tears hit his shoulder as he tried to comfort his friend through this ordeal. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to, are you ok? I’m sooo sorry.” ShadowKai jumped up from the swing. “I’m alright it’s just I don’t want to talk about this anymore can we talk about something else now… please?” They changes the subject but talked very little until the end of recess. They walked back inside and Isrisu dried his tears as Saz when his separate way from the other two cubs. “I’ll see you later buddy.” Saz told Isrisu and he waved to him. All Isrisu could do was shyly wave back and he went back to class wanting this day to be over with. The day went by fast after recess and before he knew it was 3:30 and the bell rang. He slowly made his way out the door looking for his brother who was standing right across the hall from his door “I told you I’d be right here haha. Are you ready to go?” he ran straight to Aka “I think so, I got everything as far as I know.”
“Hay, wait for me!” they heard from down the hall as the little dragon boy who was now almost running down the hall towards them as they were getting ready to leave. “Oh yeah I forgot I said I would give him a ride to it totally slipped my mind” Aka said. They all got ready and left the school to back to the apartment complex which was a quiet ride as Isrisu still wasn’t opening up to people as much as Aka would like. They walked up the stairs and Isrisu was the first into the apartment while Aka walked Saz to his which he had some intention of asking some question about the school day. “So anything happen today that you know of with Isrisu?” With that question Saz looked up “Someone brought up something he started crying about but that’s all, how did you know though?” Aka replied with “It’s my job, I’m his big bro and a big bro is supposed to know what’s wrong with his little brother.” Saz said his goodbye and he walked into the door which then slowly closed behind him.
Later that night the two fox brothers were sitting on the couch watching a movie and after an hour or so Isrisu could barely keep his eyes open slowly sliding onto Aka’s side. He didn’t last long for a few seconds later he was out like a light. He awoke to find the sun rising and him covered in a blanket from his room. The rest of the week went by fast and soon the weekend was here he didn’t know what was going to happen and he really wanted to know if he could go places. It was Friday and he had just gotten home from school to find out that his brother had made plans to go out shopping for clothes and other things for Isrisu so he could get it out of the way for the weekend. When he finished his homework they left for the store which Isrisu was not looking forward to for he hated clothes shopping. They leave and Aka couldn’t resist saying “So you want tidy whities or boxers?” and he asked with a giant grin for he was trying to embarrass the young cub. Red could be seen through the little kits white fur and a small tantrum soon followed that statement.
After the tantrum they had parked and entered a store heading back to the cub section to get some school clothes (even though it’s a little late to do so). They spent a few minutes getting some things and Aka pushed the little cub into the dressing rooms to try the things that were picked out on. Almost all the booths were taken and Isrisu only spotted one door that was open, but little to his surprise it was taken by a little bunny cub. He slowly pushed open the door to see a little bunny boy trying on skirts.
The little bunny boy squeaked a little and pulled Isrisu in to tell him “Hay, your that new kid right? Can you keep this a secret please? No one knows about this please oh please don’t tell anyone” Isirisu nodded and slowly made his way to an available dressing booth. Thing were tried on some liked some hated but he tried to rush through it as fast as possible and soon after an hour or two they were on their way home but this time the car was not so quiet. One question was asked and it was somewhat an obvious question Aka was expecting but also dreading as he wanted to wait to wait till his little brother was older to understand it better. “Soo Aka, why did you leave that night?” Isrisu asked. Aka then slowly explained and started with the beginning.
