It's pretty easy to make a weapon that can cycle if you take advantage of a spring's resistance now that I think about it. It would just work differently from the standard gun. And since the round itself is heavier than the casing, it should react similarly to the bullets we use in terms of velocities. We humans don't utilize this because explosives.

I was all "Pew, Pew, Pew"? That's more like "Batta-batta-batta", until I saw the animation and noticed it seems to fire all three at once. Reminds me of the Needle gun from Dino Crisis 2. So Pew pew pew is most likely more accurate. Especially if it dows work similarly to the Needle Gun from DC2. That thing had a spring sound to it when firing the needles.
