A thief and a self-proclaimed crime-fighter! What a combo!
Here's some sort of a story: Making her way inside a museum with rare jewelry in the middle of the night, Rouge had an odd feeling as if she was being watched. However, a weird masked freak certainly wasn't what she expected to see when she finally noticed who was spying on her from under the roof.
"What's the deal, pervy? Enjoying the sight?" Rouge chuckled, letting the creep know she was fully aware of his presence. The stranger remained silent, yet his weird helmet kept flashing with green on various sides of it... until it suddenly stopped and the figure got shrouded in darkness once again.
"Cat got your tongue, darling? No need for snappy light shows, that's not the way to impress a lady."
That's when Rouge heard him drop behind her and she quickly turned around to counter any possible attack from his side, yet the guy just stood in place. At least she could see him better. Weird dice helmet, a long coat, some weird boots. The stranger finally spoke.
"A lady, huh? Somehow I doubt stealing goods at night makes you one" he spoke with a robotic distortion to the voice. "Well... you're certainly no gentleman either". Rouge replied, annoyed, "Cute attire, by the way... did you forget the path to your nerd club or something?" "Enough with the chit chat, I'm here to stop you"
Without further hesitation, the masked induvidual started approaching Rouge as his helmet began to to flicker random numbers once again. Rouge flew up into air.
"Ah~ You're that vigilante weirdo, aren't ya? I think I've heard a thing or two. Want to stop the bad bat thief and become the hero? That's honestly cute... Especially if you really think you can handle me, dice boy" "...D-dice boy...? The name's Chance... and I'm not going to hand you over to the authorities. Criminals like you deserve proper justice."
Chance grappled one of the wooden bars near the roof and launched into the air. Rouge avoided him and landed a kick on the guy. He lost his balance, barely managing to regain it as he bounced off the wall and launched himself back at her, this time grabbing her by the boot and tugging her down as the result, she shook him off, landing back down. It was clear they were past simply talking now. The outlaws started to fight. The guy fought in a fairly simple manner, his helmet flickering before each attackm showing off mostly small numbers. Rouge was showing off her elegance and agility, avoiding basically all of the attacks her opponent performed.
"Proper justice, hm? You're such a creep, sugar. Want to keep me for yourself, hm? Well, tough luck!" "I don't... what?! No, that's not what I mea... Agh!"
Rouge used the confusion and dove onto Chance, kicked the odd helmet, making him fall over... not without feeling some pain herself.
"Owww... That hurt," she said, putting her boot onto the lying guy's chest, "If I ruined my boots with that, I'll make sure you pay for them, boy."
Suddenly, he used his grappling hook to launch himself to the roof again, causing Rouge to fall off of him. As soon as Chance got back to his original position, all the lights on hus fancy suit turned off, leaving Rouge alone. She smirked and flew up.
"What's the matter? Did I play too rough, dear?" she chuckled, looking for him. The last thing she wanted is for some weird guy to escape and contact the police. She had plans for the night, plans involving lots of shiny gems. "I wouldn't call that 'rough'" his voice replied and Rouge immediately turned to the source.
She saw a single glowing number in the dark. "98". Immediately Chance revealed himself, aiming his hand at her. She was slightly weirded out by that, but not for long, as the finger he was pointing actually shot at her a beam of light. She dove to the side, hitting one of the wooden planks in the process. Right after that she got a kick from him, making her fall down. Rouge regained her balance only to be hit with a grappling hook and tugged back to Chance. Suddenly, the battle got much more serious. Rouge realised that the equipment her opponent was using was clearly stacking the odds against her, so she decided to flee, being exhausted from the suddenly rough fight. The bat turned around and started flying for the windows near the roof.
"Not so fast."
Chance aimed his grappling hook at her and shot. The wire coiled around her, restraining her wings, arms and even legs. She started falling down.
"W-what the hell!?" Rouge exclaimed in shock.
The masked vigilante threw the wire over one of the bars under the ceiling. The wire pulled up and Rouge stopped falling, now being suspended upside down. Chance got up to her and sat on one of the many bars nearby.
"Finally... got you right where I wanted" he sighed with relief. "Ghh! What the hell do you think you're doing, you weirdo? Untie me right now!" Rouge struggled against her improvised restraints. "Calm down, bat girl, you've lost... Now stay still and be quiet or else we might attract some unwanted attention..." he replied, exhausted. "Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you? All alone with me trussed up like that! Sorry, hun, I'm not into dice-headed wei-- MMPH!!"
Chance helmet flashed again as he shoved a hankerchief into Rouge's mouth and tied a cloth over it. "Sorry, 'hun', seems like the chances are stacked against you, so no more talking..." he said with easement, "Now let's take a little break before I take you to your cell." "Mmmph! Phhgh! Mmmmfff!"
Rouge struggled, coiled with the grappling hook wire, screaming profanities into the gag, trying to get free. Chance seemed to be getting annoyed by that, but at least he had her somewhat quiter now... All the teasing during the battle certainly didn't help his confidence.
I figured I might give y'all something more than just a ref with Chance... so here's him in action... I mean, kinda already after all the action. This was supposed to be a simple and quick pic, but, of course, I got carried away. Really proud of the end result, though. Tried out some different shading due to the nature of the scene and I think it doesn't look half bad. In any case, I do hope this is to your liking.
Here's a very small alt, giving a really minor insight to Chance's thoughts: https://bitly.com/2PnXoxd
