A lot of those stand-along shops are gone now, thanks to one-stop shopping at places like Wallymart. I used to stare into model shops, jewelry stores, bookstores, anything that had a unique setup, lol.

I saw YOUR snow globe, and I was thinking about incorporating one as well into my picture. Jewelry shops I grew up with had more than just rings and such: they had glass sculptures, hanging ornaments, crystal unicorns... I think in this picture it's pre-Christmas, when people get hyped up about the big spend-spend-SPEND, but the kids just see a lot of really cool things they don't really get to see on a regular basis. Pretty special time of the year. :3
