As he's not technically alive, this is nothing but a flesh wound and he'll get back up once his body does. But for the moment he's very much having a sense of "really" about being served on a plate like this.

"Kind of excessive, guys."

I bet the tongue and brains would be delicious.  I tasted a cricket last night and found that to be pretty tasty and imagine he must be much tastier.

Wouldn't really have a flavor.

Crickets come in several fried and cooked varieties. Haven't tried them, but I've heard they taste pretty good.

Awww, I saw them in suckers when I was a young cub but didn't think of that.  I actually ate the one that my praying mantis didn't finish.  It was raw and the belly was left witch is the juiciest part and is tasty.  I should try cooking up some of my own.

Sucker bugs are pretty good, saw lots but never ate any because Christian family abusive situation so eating "unclean meat" as a kid was auto going to hell and all that bs. XD

Surprised you haven't ate the mantis.

Awww families can be terrible.  I only hasn't tried them because I thought it was gross when I was a cub and only began getting into these things recently.  I didn't eat my mantis because I love him but has licked his rump and he lifted his tail when he was in the mood.  If it wasn't for them eating crickets, I wouldn't has thought of eating one myself but tried after seeing that they love eating them.

Unfortunately he passed away today.  The middle of his belly was almost flat when I got him and got worse but he was eating last night and thought he would be okay.  I thought of eating him but love him too much.  I miss him now because I really wanted him during the winter.

I have been getting away from it slowly, it's just a work in progress.

Probably shouldn't lick your pet's butts though, not usually a good idea.

Manti die pretty easy, where did you get yours from?

I found him outside and I always give them a lick to see if they'd like it but I couldn't quite tell for him.  He would always have a thing for staying on my radio when he sleeps, might be because it's made of wood and resembles a tree.  Other times he'll be on the curtain.  If I touch him, his leg still moves a bit and I feel sad but when a person dies, it doesn't effect me.

Good thing bugs can't feel pain. Also manti have a short lifespan of blissful breeding and then dying like most bugs. They live only a year or so.

I didn't know they can't feel pain.  The longest I had one was until the middle of December when I was a cub but that'a because I couldn't get crickets for him.

Yep, they lack the receptors to feel pain. They can feel touch and temperature(light included) but they can't feel pain.

Awwww thanks for telling me this, I feel much better knowing he wasn't in pain when dying.

No problem. It's mostly insects and fish that are like that, though fish are debated, but it's like that quote from Billy and Mandy where they say fish are like Styrofoam and don't feel pain. Yeah they react to things around them, and respond to touch but that's because temperature and like basic instinct. It's why they'll lay around and die a lot, they know fire is hot and stuff, but they don't know one movement from another honestly.
