September 10th, 1988, two weeks before Lori would give birth to Tim, Dan was getting food, when he got hit, his car then spun out of control, and hit a tree, killing him instantly. Later that night, after Lori and Jack heard of Dan's death, Lori, left in devastation, asks Jack to stay at her place for the night, to be safe. (NO, NOT FOR SEXUAL REASONS, perverts.) Jack accepts to stay the night to help her and her future son, and this is them before they head off to sleep.
