The year is 1960. and a hyena is making gasoline deliveries to filling stations in New Mexico.
The semi tractor is a 1957 GMC (a three year old truck at the time). The hyena is driving southbound on Highway 54 in New Mexico between Pastura and Vaughn. Although the speed limit is 70 mph, the hyena is running speeds between 75 and 80...On open highway such as this, he's putting the petal to the metal.
Not long after you notice the speeding truck approaching, it zooms by, and as it goes away you hear that 'walking sound' of a trailer tire making that rapid >wa wa wa wa wa< noise that was commonly heard from big truck tires back in the day...I was once told by a trucker that tire sound came from when a wheel wasn't accurately trued up.
You notice there are two license tags on the truck. Back in the day, big commercial trucks had to have a license tag for each state they operated in...In this case, this truck operates in Colorado and New Mexico.

In the distance is the brand new 1060 Plymouth Fury station wagon owned Al and Marge Coyote. Marge is making a run to a grocery store in Santa Rosa, and the four cubs; Jed, Rex, Clarence and Donna are riding along.
The station wagon doesn't yet have the typical 1960 New Mexico tag that was red with amber print...The car was purchased the day before, thus, has the temporary paper board tag issued by the dealership.
After meeting the Esso tanker rig, Jed remembered a joke about Esso...Jed was sitting on the front seat with Mom, and the others; Rex, Clarence and Donna were sitting on the back seat...(not the cargo area seat).
"Hey, Clarence", Jed said, then asked, "How do you spell ipso?".
"That's easy...I-P-S-O", Clarence smartly answered.
"So you pee Esso gasoline? That's nice to know", Jed delivered the punch line as the cubs laughed.
"Jed!", Marge reprimanded her oldest son. "Obviously you picked that one up from the other cubs at school".
"Uh...Yea...I guess I did", Jed admitted.
"Well, we don't need to be throwing that kind of stuff around", Marge said to Jed.
"Okay, Mom", Jed acknowledged.

This drawing is inserted into Part 28 of Clarence Coyote and Project Courier as an in-text image.
