Umbra is the personal attendant of Maximiliana, Dark Princess of Casila.

Umbra is fiercely devoted to her charge and, by some accounts, the only force keeping Maxi civilized, for Umbra tends to the barbarian's bedroom, clothing, hair, etc. She also keeps track of Maxi's various responsibilities and appointments, and her company tends to help keep Maxi focused on such boring things and mindful of "royal correctness".

Normally calm and reticent, even a bit shy, Umbra is easily angered by insults towards Maxi and constantly keeps an eye on her safety.

Umbra's favorite Dark Princess (besides Maxi) is Moonbrooke, whom she sees as the purest embodiment of grace and queenliness out of the four. She disapproves of Arietta's gaudiness and insolence, but would tolerate her if not for [REDACTED].
