I love Minecraft (and on the similar note, Terraria) but my luck with blocks, gems and treasures suck lol
I have a tendency to dig a straight line (with a 3 block high and wide gap) for so many blocks then I start digging the sides out and branching off every 3-5 blocks (with varying degrees of simple paths or steps if I find some ore).
Probably not the most effecient...or effective, but it works for me...mostly :p

Lovin' horror titles but waiting for stuff to really just get and prices to drop a tad on the things I've got my eyes on already.
