It's awesome to see the left over evidence in the earlier comic page where the shingles on the roof in front of the window are all messed up. Clearly showing where she went and he tried to get her.

Reminds me of a scene in one of the Discworld novels. A character is pursued into a room, looks for a hiding place and realizes that hiding under the bed would only work for maybe five seconds.

The perspective shifts to the pursuer, who breaks in and finds the window open. Figuring his target went out that way, he goes over to the window, leans out...

...and gets kicked out through the window by said target who had been hiding under the bed, because sometimes, five seconds is enough.
