Rage of The WILDs
This is the true story of the rage of the Wilds.
It is common belief that their strong and undeniable will to never fall in battle makes any Wild a feared opponent. But although their will certainly is a power to reckon with, this couldn’t be further from the true cause of the Wild’s fierce reputation.
Every Wild has the ability to unleash an uncontrollable rage, causing persistent waves of panic over his opponent. At first this is still an unclear threat, as something vague or far away. His adversary cannot name the danger, but feels the fear. A feeling that becomes more intense, overwhelming, inescapable panic. His heart is pounding like a madman. His muscles tense, he starts to sweat, shake or tremble. He feels his body tingling or nothing at all. He has the idea that he barely gets any air, that he suffocates. The pain in the chest, in the abdomen. He feels nauseous, dizzy and shaky, as if he is about to faint. He feels unreal, split in two halves. He fears losing self-control or going crazy. He can't think clearly anymore. His mind is confused. Thoughts repeat themselves, keep repeating themselves with no way out. He gets completely absorbed by this one idea: the knowledge that he will go under in battle. Honorless. Chanceless.
Throughout the years and decades, most people thought this to be just a myth, that such fear provoking power could never exist. But it is the heritage of the Wilds. It is as if he is taking on the spirit of the primal bear, from the beginning of time. When this happens, when the primal bear comes alive within him and is set free, he’s foaming at the mouth and transforms into a warrior of great unknown strength and courage who fights with wild ferocity. He erupts in furious rage and becomes crazy violent like a maniac.
This primal rage is triggered by a loss of self-control at battle, unleashing a burst of power no
one has ever seen or felt before. In this state the Wild attacks everyone and everything in his path, leaving nothing but a trail of death and destruction behind.
This frenzied state of furious attack and rampage is unstoppable but for one thing.
The only way to bring that Wild back from the brink is his husband calling out to him. Hearing the voice of his lover has some kind of power to reach him and to remind him of who he is. That is called The Reversed Merman. However, this is not without danger because until he hears the voice of his lover the Wild goes into raptures and can't tell friend from foe.
There are rumors that if a Wild could control this overwhelming power it could be a tide turner in battle, any battle. But to do that he must not only face the beast within him, but also defeat it.
There are ancient scriptures describing that in order to do so, the Wild must have an out-of body experience in which he perceives himself and the world around him from a location outside his physical body, on the astral plane. Only when his spirit leaves his body and travels in the spirit world, he can try to control this rage. According to occult teachings the astral plane can be visited at will through astral projection, meditation, near death experience, lucid dreaming, or other means. Eons ago, there was a secret place on Island World one can go to, in complete solitude, to master astral travelling. This was led by a secret society, long before the birth of Silver, no one has ever heard of again…
