He is the adopted son to General Big Bad and 2nd in command of The Wolf Pack. Even tho Big Bad is harsh on him it's cause he really cares for him and don't want to see him die in battle cause of his impatient behavior.
Mel is very impatient and arrogant hell even after Big Bad defeated him as a young wolf pup. He still hasn't let go of that side. But all in all he wants to show General Big Bad he can handle himself on the field of battle.
He holds his father in high regard and shows him great respect. Knowing how he is General Big Bad always keeps him close to him to make sure he doesn't almost get himself killed.
Oh and that sword behind him is his tale. Which means just like Scooby he too can use the 3 swords style.
He of course is a WILD. and as a WILD he has a Phoenix. So let go on to it shall we?
His Phoenix is by far the coolest and has the best ability of all THE WILD FAMILY members. It's The Phoenix of FOREVER NIGHTSHADE.
It has the best advantages for The Entire Wolf Pack. And a nasty disadvantage for his enemies. It casts a night fall effect that covers the whole area even blocking out the sun and replaces it with a massive golden super moon.
It cuts it's enemies off from reality placing them a perpetual night field. That's not the worst part the enemies can't escape no matter what they do, but wait there's more if The Wolf Pact enters the Night Field it'll make them invisible cutting off almost everything to letting their enemies know their even there before its to late and with that super moon boosting their power even further then what it was before.
