"Alright, so my Karate class is a bit messed up now and babysitting is leaving me with some mixed results but I've always been a good enough speaker. I'll just make sure I give the best possible speech I can today." Tails smirked as his best friend, Sonic the Hedgehog, fixed the tie on his fancy, smancy new suit.
"It'll be fine, buddy." Sonic smirked as he patted Tails on the head. "You've been taking great strides lately so I'm totally proud of ya. Remember, all you gotta do is imagine everyone in their underwear."
Tails rolled his eyes. "I dunno, I feel like imagining everyone half-naked would just make me more uncomfortable. Thanks for the advice though. Also, thanks for agreeing to come too. I know this sort of thing can be a bit boring for you."
"It's your big day. It's the very least I could do. Besides, you told me that I'm your good luck charm. Nothing embarrassing will happen to you so long as I'm around." Sonic smirked and pointed at himself.
Tails smiled. "Well that's good. I gotta say, things did usually go wrong almost instantly whenever you left..." The fox found himself muttering this before going out to give his speech to the children at Cobalt's school.
He was representing the science community and was given a chance to prove himself by giving a speech to other kids about his achievements and advancements as a tech wizard.
This, he managed to do. Flawlessly in fact.
When Tails was done giving his speech, he got a round of obligated applause from the kids there that were most likely just happy to be out of class for a bit. It wasn't until Sonic and Tails were headed down the hallway to the Principal's office that trouble found them.
"Hey you two!" One snobby sounding young brat called at them from behind. Both Sonic and Tails stopped to turn and look at what seemed to be a generic group of school bullies. "That was a really boring speech you made us sit through. Who do you think you are? Coming here and pretending to be all adult when you're just a kid like us."
Tails rolled his eyes. "Are you guys serious. Shoo already." Tails waved them off. "If the speech wasn't able to inspire you then froluck back to where you came from and find something that can."
Sonic stood with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
"Hah! You sound confident." Sonic spoke up. He then took a step forward and leered down at the kids. "Who do YOU guys think you are? That's the real question."
"We're students from a different karate dojo." One boy said with a sneer. "We got info on you guys from Cobalt. He says you guys are pretty cool. We wanna know if that's true or if you've just been playing pretend all this time. After all, he DID beat the snot out of his master here." One kid said, pointing accusingly at Tails.
Instantly the fox blushed. "EH?! Huh?! H-How did you find out about that?! There's no way that Cobalt told you." That was the last thing Cobalt would do. He admired Tails too much.
"He didn't." The boy confirmed, "Your other students did though. They thought it was funny." One of the boys teased, doing a little jig. "They even gave us some pictures of you passed out. They're hilarious."
Tails was super red in the face. "I... I don't... uh..."
Sonic put his hand out and stepped forward. "Let me handle this."
The three boys laughed. "You can't handle us. We know you're a wimp too."
Sonic smirked and pointed at himself. "Hey now. Talk all the smack you want but you can't back it up with anything. You've got nothing on me."
"Oh?" One boy held up his phone and flashed a picture to Sonic that made the blue hedgehog go red as a cherry. "So this isn't a picture of you when you're alone at night? Do tell!"
"...!!!" Sonic's jaw dropped. He began sweating all over, staring with shock at the picture on the phone. "H-How... HOW?!"
"It wasn't hard getting this." The kid mused, "We've got ways of snagging stuff like this." He was being all secretive but really it just took one of Tails' former students going on over to where Sonic's designated place of residence was, sneaking in through his unlocked window, and snapping a photo for spits and giggles.
Tails seemed to know what the deal was and found himself grumbling, "You really need to lock your windows Sonic... also, you suck your thumb?"
Sonic snarled and clenched his fists. It was a picture of him sleeping in his racecar bed with his teddy. He couldn't allow that to remain on that kid's phone...
"Alright... I hope you're prepared to deal with ME now." Sonic seemingly snapped and began to step forward. Tails smirked and crossed his arms.
"Count me in. I'm not just a guy in a fancy suit." Tails grinned, full of confidence and ready to teach these actual bullies what happens when you mess with Sonic and Tails.
The kids seemed unfazed though.
They merely smiled as the two of them approached, thinking they were going to teach these boys a lesson.
