Down here, you can only look up. You see strange things when your eyes grow used to the dark. We've fallen so far and for so long that by the time we landed, so much in us has broken.
We are scattered at times, in splinters...pieces. Our cracked eyes stare to the horizons and see little. Our cracked ears hear little, our cracked minds think little, and our cracked hearts begin to feel little.
There is an illness in this way of life. A sickness deep down inside us that silences our smallest hopes...drags us towards this place of apathy and dwindling existence.
We worship that which harms us...draw ourselves to our pain and call this torment truth when it is the most vicious of lies. This weight drags us down, it drowns out any mercy of our redemption.
Such is the warping power of abstract fears seeping once more into divine creatures.
These feelings...this hopelessness...this sickness...we cannot revere this. We cannot endure this suffering and call it living. We cannot make a wicked idol of ourselves and call it just.
If you can hear me however far down you are, there is more to you. There is more to all of us. We are a noble race...but we do not always act in the most noble of ways...but I believe you can. I believe you are more capable than incapable.
