Not long after my first concert, I get word of a nearby tournament in the same arena! I immediately jumped at the chance to participate. Dad was feeling super depressed as he was still blaming himself for being responsible for mom's death. I hoped that me entering (and winning) the tournament would turn his attention from his deep depression. The registration fee wasn't that much, but money wasn't what I was concerned with as there were many fighters there to participate. Still, round after round, I fought my way through the brackets with each battle that passed. Before long, the finals came as I attained victories in an almost effortless manner, what with most of the fighters I was matched up with being caught up in their delusions of fame...all except for my final opponent. There was this HUGE bull dude who apparently was a former champion, said he was disappointed that my dad threw in the towel before he had a chance to fight him. If only he knew what went down... Nevertheless, I fought him. Unlike most of my matches up until that point, I was dealing with amateurs and boasters. This guy was the real deal! We went on for what felt like hours, his Judo against my dad's Karate. When the dust finally settled, I stood in triumph as I proved my strength to the entire city, showing them that I'm more than just a singer. With my mom's voice and my dad's fist, I promised to bring honor to their names and their art, as their memory lives on through me! I just hope my dad saw my matches and feels better, knowing his own son is doing his best for both of his beloved parents...
