Background/History

Half-breed child of an Aquatrosian noble and a surface dweller, Mugil only came to know about his mixed heritage much later in his adult life. He came to the surface world to experience the people and the culture. While managing to connect with some, he came into conflict with others. In his conflicts, he was bestowed a name by some people; Sea Ape. While reluctant to become a hero, Mugil did accept the role as it served to help better relations between Aquatros and the Surface World. However, Mugil has run into some other obstacles; his short fuse has gotten him into trouble especially when he’s brutally beaten thugs and criminals within an inch of their lives or when people have referred to him as Sea Monkey instead of Ape. Still, he’s viewed as a hero and protector of the innocent which lead to him being accepted into the Guild of Guardians.

Powers & Abilities: Amphibious Nature- As a prima aquatus, Mugil possesses an ability to live in both aquatic and terrestrial environments. While this is possessed by all prima aquatus, Mugil’s mixed heritage allows him greater stamina and resilience to surface world than others without special apparatus to keep him hydrated as prima aquatus must have some contact with water.
Enhanced Strength- Thanks to the pressure and density of water, Mugil possesses greater strength than ordinary people. His strength has been shown via displays to lift small boats effortlessly or smash machines like they were nothing. While perhaps not in the top tier of his peers, Mugil is definitely not to be underestimated.
Enhanced Durability- As Prima Aquatus reside underwater and make their homes on the deep sea floor, Mugil and others of his kind possess a great amount of durability. His body has shown at times to be almost impervious to damage by some weapons on the surface, like knives and low caliber bullets. He’s not invulnerable however, as high caliber ammunition could harm him and a strong blade wielded by a person with strength equal or greater than Mugil could definitely pierce his skin, along with some intense laser blasts.
Hydrokinesis- Thanks to some skills he picked up during his training as a warrior, Mugil possesses the ability to telekinetically manipulate various forms of water for defensive or offensive purposes. He’s used bodies of nearby water to lift/push enemies and has formed spheres of water to surround enemies to deprive them of oxygen.
Limited Trans-species Telepathy- Mugil possesses a form of Telepathy found in only a few aquatrosians, which allows them telepathically communicate with and influence feral aquatic life. Mugil often uses this to summon sea life to aid him in battle or emergencies like sharks or orcas to tear apart robots or whales/dolphins to help save people from a shipwreck.
Superhuman Stamina- Along with other superhuman traits, Mugil also possesses a higher level stamina of than the average person allowing him to be more active and fight longer than other people. His stamina is only hampered by overexertion, strong sedatives or his weaknesses like extreme heat.
Aquatic Mobility- Kind of an obvious trait but Mugil possesses incredible mobility underwater. He’s able to move underwater effortlessly and swim on a level of proficiency better than most olympic swimmers.

Felt like the Guild needed an Aquaman parallel and I wanted to have some fun with the idea; an aquatic ape being who would very much fall into the stiff & stubborn persona of the Atlantean Monarch...at least based on his persona from the Justice League Cartoon. Please enjoy.
