I could mostly follow along, but the explosion at the end of the last chapter and everything in the current one have just lost me. I want to keep reading because I love Annie, Angel, April, and Alfred so very much, but the plot seems to have gone completely off the rails.

The story is so incoherent that it hardly makes any sense anymore. It seems like the author is tossing many ideas at the wall and just seeing what sticks regardless of thinking them thru. If they're going for a story that's supposed to be purposely vague in order for everything to come full circle towards the conclusion (or chapter's end), it's not executed very well evidenced by how poorly structured the storytelling is at times.
It's like reading the thoughts of someone who has a short attention span; just when you get invested in one plot point, another one pops up presenting way too many questions than answers way before explaining the previous plot point they were supposedly building up to. The sudden shift between character arcs, chapters, and plots are so sporadic that it begs for a complete re-construction or retcon to fill in those holes or better explain them to the audience.
There's potential for a good story here, but it's buried deep beneath too much inconsistency and poor story structuring.

totally my fault for the slow rate of updates, remember this is a single chaper.. that we can judge perhaps once is complete. I already explained to the guy who already replayed you.. but he copy/pasted his complain. like i said nothing. still i hope at the end people understand.. is not like the first time that I decided broke the contuinity of the story.. (take a look what came after angel had an accident on chapter one)... still.. hard to make a webcomic where you can't present a chapter at once so people can make theories... at the end .. is all my fault. but is not like i don't know where to go, is just you didn't saw it yet.. and that's because i can't update that fast and focus only on this (in fact this chapter is cooking since 2 years.)

I dunno but I think it might have to do something with the sickness that, Annie and Angel's mother suffered from, or Benedict illness that could have been concentrated and spread through the explosion and saturated within a certain radius caused by Hoku
