Toxic fan bases are a dime a dozen these days. From Star Wars to Steven Universe it seems that everyone is willing to die for their cause, even if that cause is an insipid piece of media... and nothing defines that more then the Sonic the Hedgehog fans, whose cringe inducing devotion to the franchise consistently sabotages it. Even within the series itself, it seems the Blue Blur can't escape his rabid fans, as seen here with three canonical fanboys/girl.
From right to left, Chris Thorndyke of Sonic X shame-(who seems to have taken fashion tips from another infamous Sonic fanboy of the same name)-Jack Rabbit who... I gotta be honest I know nothing about. Apparently he's from the comic series and of course the most well known Sonic fanatic, Amy Rose, and hey look! She's even in my redesign for her, which people really seemed to like, which is obvious as that design was by special request of the commissioner.
I really enjoyed getting to do this one. Not just because I got to draw my take on Amy again and it's really cool to know how much people liked that, but because I absolutely love ragging on the Sonic fan base. Yeah, I like the series myself and that's probably why I like poking fun at these sad, toxic fanatics. It's a silly series and concept and nothing to base your life around and sadly, there are so many in this fanbase that they just end up giving a series I genuinely enjoy an awful name. Sure, it may not be the most mature thing to do and they're kind of an easy target, but there's just way too many humorous things that have come out of the terrible Sonic fanbase that I can't help but rag on it now and then. I mean, how do you think Turbo the Porcupine came about?
Yeah, he's much more esoteric then Amy or the infamous Chris. He's Jack Rabbit, some schmuck from the comic series who sees Sonic as a god for being the one to defeat Robotnik; as always glad you like my Amy so much. I swear, my initial intent for her is that her eyes are hardly ever seen, only shown when needed or to show off her craziness, but both pics so far have just kinda resulted in showing them. Oh well.
