Vide’s species has historically been lead by “Savants”, having either exceptional psychic power or intellect (usually of the Mad Scientist variety). In a more modern age, Derro of fame are usually remembered for making doomsday cults, but some have also inhabited the spotlight as peculiar media personalities. (*cough* timburton/stephenking *cough*)
Derro are stereotyped as being good scientists along with other “short” races like Gnomes and Goblins. But as their mad and very particular obsessions are usually neither safe nor profitable, tend to be held lower than the others. Most languish at the bottom rung of society. Desirable only for their preference in working nightshifts, employers all to happy to keep them out of sight.
