Today's walk blessed the Fuf with all the birbs. It was wonderful. uwu Even the elusive peacock showed up. He very nice, but don't like dem ducks. <:Y ...I love birds. :T
Just a quickie for today, been a busy butt but wanted to post and my recent walk made a fun quick subject. :Y Meet some local birb species I guess? The local lake rocks and there are plenty of feathered friends to be found.
this has got to be the quickest drawing you've ever done.. and it looks super good too or maybe Ive been working for too long? Did I eat?? .. y u feed ducks and not mops? YwY

Thank you! Aaaaah, the big fat geese? We have a flock of them going around but they never come to this part of the lake.. But we're lucky to have a pair of these badass lookign egyptian geese. They say quack to deceive you and hiss a lot but they're pretty. :Y

Aww, that's adorable! I love how happy she looks feeding all her little feathered friends, and it's just such a lovely and cheerful little scene. The background is beautiful, and I really like the warm, tropical feeling it has with those palm tress in the background. A nice change from all the cold weather around here! The birds are all really nicely done, too, especially the ones in the foreground. The on directly in front of her, with the red around its eye, is particularly striking.
Also, I love the little turtle peeking out from the water like 'hey, can I have some bread crumbs too?' Very cute!

These little goofballs always come and father around when they spot me walking. Sadly mr. peacock, the coots and those fancy egyptian geese are a rarer encounter, but that morning was suuuuper special and even the rarest of birbs came around and acted oddly friendly.
The ducks with the red around their face are muscovy ducks. They're huge, usually aggressive and very stupid, but also likeable in a genuinely cute or so ugly it's adorable way. I've 'raised' a ton of them since they were ducklings so those quack and jump for their food or even fly into me or shimmy up.
It is lucky to be here in Miami during winter, but when a front passes it drops to 50F and we reaaaally feel the difference! But then it's back to suffocating humidity and scorching sunshine. ;w;
Those little guys show up eeevery time but it's hard to feed them. They're way too slow with their reactions and a greedy duck will always get there first. >w>'
Thank you! ~ These little goofballs always come and father around when they spot me walking. Sadly
The red had me thinking gallinule or even crested caraca, but then other bits didn't quite match. Having a brightly-coloured head is a big thing for a lot of birbs, of course - even the sandhill crane!

The muscovy ducky? They come in aaall sorts of patterns, especially odd ones happen too when the male white duck catches one of the ladies. Ducks are horribly rapey. ;_;
Both birbs you mentioned are gooorgeous . I don't think they show up near us but we have a lot of herons, egrets and quite some songbirds too. Even birds of prey show up; black vultures are veery common and there's some kind of hawk or merlin that appears once in a while. Even little hummingbirds live by where Moppie works and parakeets visit too. It's paradise. =3=

Crows and pidgeons can be cool! When I lived in Hungary I'd tame them from the 10th floor. During wintertime and autumn seagulls and chickadees would show up too! But yeah, it's far more versatile here when it comes to birding. Move over and embrace the birb! o3o

Aww.. Attract them with your bird call! :Y These guys recognize me from a mile away and they always run or fly over to say hi and check if I have food. =w= They used to migrate about , but thanks to my and the other bird ladies' efforts they don't go too far.
