Wonderful species sheet created by blitzdrachin of Yori's new species! Ah...surprise x3

So yeah, I've been planning to change Yori's species to something more in line with Edarel for awhile, as well as battling with whether or not he should be a bat or a rabbit. After some thought, I finally settled on rabbit and needed to get the new species made to be more...rabbit like!

Suffice to say, I'm more than happy with the results! While I do miss the tail somewhat, I love the design so much more than it was previously! That doesn't mean I didn't like old Yori, but this works much better for his character.

Now then...I have been working on species write ups a lot, and I have one for these guys already, that you can read below. I really hope others like them! I'll post the rest of the write ups in a journal once all are finished~

P.S. Yori is actually the one in the top left corner, if others are curious of what he will look like now.

Raunikayle are a small, prey species based around rabbits that live on Edarel. Raunikayle are one of the oldest species to have existed, coming into prominence around the same time as the Praimortis, the diminutive creatures were thrust into a fight for survival that they were very unprepared for. The Raunikayle’s existence is an example of how cruel the world can be for those who lack an area to carve out for themselves. With nothing to help them stand out, Raunikayle are a species plagued by misfortune after misfortune, ending with a life that could only barely be considered one.

History
Raunikayle began to first appear around the time Praimortis were recorded to exist. It was not long before the Praimortis enslaved the still young species after a very brief war between the two of them. After the Raunikayle were enslaved, the species took a large back seat in history, a nothing of note happened to them. Most notably, during the war against the Ruby Dragons, when the Praimortis were running low on warriors to send, they would put Raunikayle into the fight to act as a shield. This living shield never managed to stall for more than a couple minutes however, and only served to both kill hundreds of their kind in waves, while lowering the opinion of the species to the attacking Ruby Dragons.

After the Ruby Dragons victory over the Praimortis, Raunikayle were assimilated into their society but unlike the Praimortis, who lacked the technology or magic ability to do certain things, Ruby Dragons were hard pressed to find any sort of use for the new slaves they inherited. Due to their previous performance in the war not too long ago, the opinion of Raunikayle quickly reached an all time low and Raunikayle, despite being in a more developed society, were treated far worse than when under the care of the Praimortis. Many were killed outright or eaten by the dragons under their care, who similarly found the species delectable.

Things stayed relatively the same for the Raunikayle, their lives holding little meaning day by day, until sometime later on, Pearl Dragons were able to help free the Praivitalia and migrate them many, many years later. This action marked an interesting turn for the species, for better or for worse. Praimortis, seeing the loss of Pravitalia, became more vigilant in the way Raunikayle were treated. They cut out any and all teaching they had, rudimentary as it was, and began pulling them out of Ruby Dragon towns and castles, allowing them to only keep a few at a time. The action was of little concern for the dragons, who at this point, with the advancements in magic and tech, found the Raunikayle increasingly worthless. At the point they were corralled back, they were seen as little better than dirt to the dragons.

With this, the Raunikayle found themselves stuck once again, this time however with little food, water and education given to them in an attempt to make them more permanent slaves. The action was mostly successful, with Raunikayle as a species being conditioned to be weaker and easier to control as the years went by. This action, in an ironic twist, became the catalyst for allowing Pearls to step in once again and migrate the Raunikayle out of Charir.
Unfortunately, Pravitalia were less than welcoming of the now liberated slave species, being conditioned through history to be weaker than when they started, it was quickly found out that over the long years, the species had deteriorated far past the point of relevance. With nowhere else to go, the Pearl Dragons chose to take them to Aussir, the still uninhabited, icy tundra to the north. A few of the species were taught basic survival tactics and from there, they were left to their own devices.

With the species being so small, weak and effectively defenseless, the first few years alone were extraordinarily difficult as the Raunikayle were quickly positioned at the bottom of the continents rigid food chain. They were forced into hiding, and finding a way to avoid predators lurking in every corner of the unforgiving wastes.

Thankfully, overtime, Raunikayle were able to carve out a small niche for themselves on the continent in secret as the rest of the world moved forward. Despite being able to do so, the Raunikayle were technologically behind every other species on Edarel due to the lack of constant trade and minimal resources on Aussir. The mana, similar to Inik, was thin and unstable, making for poor learning conditions when it came to magical studies as well.

Currently
Raunikayle are seen as little better than an annoyance at best, and no better than trash needing to be disposed of at the worst. With little to no impact on history, and being subject to constantly being put down by other races, Raunikayle are treated as no better than pests by all races aside from Pearl Dragons, Amber Dragons and Pravitalia. Despite this, the three mentioned still hold a underlying feeling of superiority over the species, and while doing what they can to hide this, it still shows itself in their general actions. Overall, very few Raunikayle hold any positions of power within Edarel, and the few that do are often ridiculed or being used for some greater end by other races.

Society
Raunikayle society on Aussir is very far behind that of all other races due to the island never getting commerce. Education is very limited, magical knowledge is extremely limited to all but a very select few passing it down through generations and normal combat is extremely primitive. They live in small, tucked away villages hidden away by predators, as even in groups it would be difficult to take down even some of the weaker creatures that live on the island. The villages themselves, if one could call them that, tend to be cramped and tiny, offering little defense to the constant blizzard ravaging the continent.
