Ehhh...being pupular is kind of an empty goal don't you think? When I started off, I just wanted to be able to draw and paint better, period. The popularity is just a side effect of my efforts, not a main goal. It's better to have friends that really accept you for who you are than fans who may or may not like certain things about you.

Ahh...That I can relate a lot to. I know, it's incredibly helpful to hear people's actually reasons, but I think a lot of that times when people do comment they're in a hurry. I look at the number of artists some folks here watch and it just scares me to think about how they keep up with it all! I don't watch too many ppl myself, just for that reason.
Maybe you could ask for specific things in the comment to your image. Like "do you guys think this character looks solid enough? How are my color choices?". I think what you really want is artistic advice, but unfortunately a lot of furries simply don't think about such things....unless you ask them very specific questions, then they can have a better idea on what to look more besides "oh that's purdy". You gotta break it down for them ^^. It also helps to know a few artists that are willing to lend an ear and offer advice. Have you tried posting in a forum geared for art critique?

Sad thing is people don't realize that with as much corruption in he world today souls aren't worth what they used to. I mean back in the day you could get a kingdom for a soul but now you would be lucky to get a fresh bagel. And yet people still call trying to sell.
