That's how I imagined it too. It's just highly convenient for him to wear one, makes sleeping better, no more bathroom breaks, and some quality time with whoever he demands to change him.

I can see that job being covered by Quill at least 60% of the time, it was his idea after all and out of everyone other than Groot he's definitely the closest to him. The rest would be done by "Ship" if you haven't read the comics and only seen to movies you're missing out on a really cool character "Ship" is literally their space ship or rather the super advanced energy being that controls it. "Ship" deeply loves Quill as her owner and not in the weird way but the genuine way. She can fully alter her structure at will and create drones so I can see her accessing earth's internet and just making an automated nursery for rocket. With her fabricators there would be infinite diapers and other baby items at her disposal for use on rocket. The others may do it from time to time when quill isn't there and they aren't close to the ship.
