The clothing aspect of older Blaze's design wasn't too difficult to create when keeping in mind the character's traits.
Panel #1: First is looking at her official design and taking notes of its features. The Arabian based style necklace to symbolize royalty, the fiery shaped cuffs of her coat that forms to flames when in Burning Blaze, and the purple high-low coat with pink trim. I do like the color scheme chosen for her and the white tights layered underneath the coat, but I felt the fire-shaped cuffs goes against Blaze's regal nature with how messy it looks.
Ideas: I wanted to keep the general concept of Blaze's clothing like the high-coat and keep the tights. But alter the cuffs and add a little more detail to her clothing.
Panel #2: I replaced the flame-shaped cuffs with smooth, fur detail to emphasize Blaze's royal sense of style and to better accentuate her outfit. For her coat, I added shoulder pads to show her leadership role, her strength, and hints of masculinity. Yet, also maintaining her elegant side so I researched references to help and this image below gave me the most inspiration.
I replaced the gold necklace with a ruby and pearls to the side to compliment the red jewel at the center of her forehead. I added a yellow trim on the coat to keep the general color scheme.
