Wow, thank you. It really does stand out a lot more in color. I'm especially drawn to the shadow under the unrolled scroll. It gives it a nice look, as if it's curling and lifting off the table, interacting with its environment, so to speak. In response to your comment, I actually didn't notice until just now that Pinkie's balloons are in the wrong position (I really don't know how I missed that!). Thanks for pointing that out!

well the shadow was a last minute thought, I'm not happy with how it turned out, it was my attempt at shading, something I usual don't do because I suck at it so much. at any rate it does give it a more dynamic look so at least it has that going for it. I made a few touch ups to the line art that I'm not sure if you noticed or not. Erased some bits, around the ears and bow, other places I cant remember at the moment. Added some bits, to the teeth, apple blooms hair, Twilight's hair. could have added more but sens I'm not much of a drawer, I left the ink quill alone, I was going to attempt to give it a more feathery look. While the wood looks nice by itself, now that I look at it again with a clear head (was sleep deprived when I colored this) I see that it clashes with the rest of the pic do to it's high detail and the pics over all sketchy feel.
But it's colored it looks better than a simple sketch so it's not all bad. I really like it despite those few flaws.

Yeah, that's the thing about sketches. They have a lot of extra little lines and squiggles that can be distracting when you add color, so I'm sure the erasing was necessary. When I do my own coloring, I'll make sure to smooth out the lines as much as I can. Depending on the results, I might also upload a black and white version ("inked" version).
And I can definitely understand the sleep issue. I usually do all of my drawing late at night, up until I start nodding off, hehe (actually, that probably explains why I got Pinkie's cutie mark wrong). I also noticed the added highlights to Twilight's hair, which looks very nice! And the quill... Yeah, I'm still struggling with quills. I've done a few sketches where they look really nice, but it's still a bit hit-and-miss with them. Half the time, I end up making them look like fat pens XD
