He eats the libido of others to survive. Nekomata is a type of Japanese monster(youkai) that looks like a cat. They can learn to understand human language after a while, and also gain spiritual and psychic powers. Even though he seems bright and cheerful, he actually feels lonely on the inside. He tries to love others, but he's very scared of people being frightened by his looks. That's why he never takes the first step and stays distant.
